“I have seen millions of dollars thrown away on technology that wasn’t even needed or even used after it was purchased. And I think the bigger thing, more than anything else, is that it’s okay to spend money on technology, but you have to be strategic with where you’re placing your money and in what software and technology you want to invest in”.

Today’s episode discusses the role of women in tech and how different the IT industry can be for women compared to men. Brad and Bobby discuss the changing IT landscape, as well as how the IT industry challenges women in ways it may not challenge men. Whether you’re a woman working in the IT industry, or a manager wanting to better manage your female employees, hear what these tech experts have to say on the subject in this week’s episode.
“I love being able to come and dig in deep into areas where women are underrepresented. What, where, and when women are underrepresented. So to be able to be a person who can walk into tech not only as a woman but as a minority woman and end up dealing with aspects of diversity and inclusion, you really start to understand who you are and you start to love it. Because being under-represented allows you to push a little bit harder, work a little bit harder, stay up on late nights, and make sure that you’re successful no matter what. And I think that road has allowed me to really love everything about technology not just because I want to show people who I am, but I want to show people that women can be strong within technology.”

Today’s episode discusses the necessity of soft skills in the IT industry. In such a competitive field, it’s crucial to receive maximum benefits from every decision. Hear what these tech experts have to say about soft skills in this week’s episode.
“On-premises or in the Cloud? With these niches and the specialty and when people talk about Cloud services, it's kind of basically taking things away from in-house, on-premises, on property.
How is that going to affect an IT person looking for a job? It's not going to affect the job market at all. I mean, IT is becoming more specialized. Like how we were saying things are becoming more niche. Well, companies are adapting and the big cloud providers I mean, you've got Azure, you've got Google. you've got AWS, and all of these companies that are starting to understand, and so what they're doing is they're creating certifications.
So you still have your DevOps team, but your DevOps team doesn't have to be on site. You don't have to have your servers on-site, so it's kind of the best of both worlds. so, no, it's not really being affected, but you are going to have to be certified more and understand and know exactly what to do.”
