SHOW LESSWeather in 5 We are transitioning into a warmer and more humid air mass today with some showers around this morning and a shower or thunderstorm possible late today. Parts of the area are in a marginal risk for severe weather. A cold front will arrive late Thursday with severe weather risk Virginia to Southern New England. The Labor Day weekend is looking good with low humidity and sunshine through Sunday and no rain through Monday. Tropical Storm Omar is offshore and will weaken with no impact to the US. Tropical Storm Nana in the Caribbean will likely become a hurricane before making landfall in Belize Thursday with no impact at all to the US.

Tropical Storm Omar is headed out to sea east of the Carolinas. Across the US the weather is taking the look of September with summer hanging on.

Weather in 5 on this Tuesday September 1, 2020 we are transitioning to a warmer more humid air mass into Friday. Scattered showers or a thunderstorm are the only issue until a front passes Friday. Then lower humidity and sunshine arrive for the Labor Day weekend. Tropical Depression 15 is off the North Carolina coast and moving eastward while low pressure in the Caribbean could become a tropical depression or tropical storm later today. No tropical issues are forecast for the US this weekend.
