C. S. Lewis famously said the pain we sometimes experience in the difficulties of life could be used as God’s megaphone to rouse us from our slumber or complacency. Or as Lewis put it to rouse a deaf world.If that’s God intent, then our response becomes clear. That is, to turn to the Lord, in times of difficulty having confidence He’ll see us through. We return to the book of Joel today on Light on the Hill. It tells of a calamity that was God directed with great purpose and has application for us today.
