Jarmecca Yvonne "Nikki" Whitehead (April 18, 1975 – January 13, 2010) was a 34-year-old mother of 16-year-old identical twins named Jasmiyah Kaneesha Whitehead and Tasmiyah Janeesha Whitehead (born on November 27, 1993). On the afternoon of January 13, 2010, she was found dead in the bathroom of her boyfriend's Conyers, Georgia, home in the Bridle Ridge Walk subdivision. She had been beaten with a vase and stabbed repeatedly.

A spurned husband was sentenced to life in prison Thursday after a jury convicted him of murdering his wife after learning of her adulterous affair.

That Phillip Chad Dunn, 29, of Braselton, stabbed his estranged wife to death on Valentine's Day 2010 was never in question during the trial. However, defense attorney Wystan Getz asked a Gwinnett County jury to find Dunn guilty of the lesser offense of voluntary manslaughter, which carries a penalty of 20 years in prison, because he said he committed the crime in the heat of passion.

Assistant District Attorney Christa Kirk thought otherwise, asking jurors to find Dunn guilty of malice murder, which carries a mandatory life sentence.

The jury returned a verdict after deliberating for two hours. Dunn's life sentenc includes 24 months on probation, consecutive to a 20-year sentence he previously received for choking his wife two weeks prior to the murder.

Dunn also was convicted of aggravated assault and two counts of third-degree cruelty to children for slaying Shelley Dunn at a Walmart in Suwanee in front of their two daughters, who were then 6 and 8 years old.

The death of a promising young rapper that was thought to be a result of self-defense soon turned out to be cold-blooded murder. Rahim Grant was killed by the mother of his child in 2017. A cellphone video recording blew the case wide open, eventually sealing the murderer’s fate.

alerie Dee Martin, born on September 13, 1967, was prosecuted along with three men. She was convicted of murdering a victim named William Whiteside, who was killed on February 28, 2003. Two of her co-defendants were convicted and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The third defendant's case is still pending.

Martin was sentenced to death in Los Angeles County on March 26, 2010.

Brunswick Judicial Circuit District Attorney Keith Higgins has told Glynn County Superior Court he has dropped a murder charge against Akeem Brown in the March 2018 shooting death of Corley β€œCJ” Proctor and murder and conspiracy charges against Brown’s wife, Tiffany Brown, according to the Brunswick News.

Proctor, a 22-year-old from Brantley County, was found shot to death inside his car at the end of Golden Isles Parkway.

Tiffany Brown was arrested April 5 and charged with Proctor’s murder. Akeem Brown was arrested 10 days later, also charged with murder. Police believe the two lured Proctor to the remote location, where he was shot dead with a .40 caliber handgun.

Tiffany Brown was to be the key witness against Akeem Brown, but Higgins said she refuses to testify.

β€œThe state cannot compel her to testify against him because of the marital testimony privilege,” Higgins wrote in the motion. β€œThere is insufficient evidence at this time to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt.”

The Brunswick News reported that Higgins discussed the decision with Proctor’s mother and sister before filing the motion.
