Joke Strap - Podcast

In this episode, Wes Hofmann is joined by guest, Ruben Escobedo III, a comedian out of San Jose, CA. Although Ruben is not particularly a big sports fan himself, he was a great guest for this podcast. Wes and Ruben talk about how Ruben got started with stand-up, how he started to produce his own comedy shows, and how he became a beloved mascot for a local minor league baseball team.

Wes Hofmann talks comedy and baseball with comedian and musician, Danno. They talk about how they basically started comedy around the same time and share stories. They then dive into baseball as Danno shares his appreciation for the Oakland A's even though he is a San Francisco Giants fan. Danno shares a funny story about a photo he once took dressed in Giants gear in a ballpark full of Dodgers fans in LA.

Wes Hofmann discusses performing stand-up comedy for the first time since before the Pandemic shut everything down in 2020. He also discusses how the Bay Area sports teams are struggling, the continuing MLB lockout, and more.

MLB is still in a lockout but Commissioner Manfred claims the MLB and owners have "good proposal" for the MLBPA on Saturday. We shall see.

MLB's Hall of Fame is a joke. Which I guess is fitting to talk about since this podcast has the word "joke" in the name.

In this episode of Joke Strap, Wes Hofmann talks about Timo Meier of the San Jose Sharks, the San Francisco 49ers current playoff run, the upcoming baseball season for the San Jose State Spartans, and more.

Let's hope 2022 is better for us all. The San Jose Sharks currently find themselves in a playoff spot and Wes and his friend recently found themselves on the ice at the SAP Center! The San Francisco 49ers look to make the playoffs in their 17th (that's weird to say) game of the season. The Golden State Warriors welcome back Klay Thompson! Sports are exciting right now, except for MLB which is still in a lockout.

A lot has happened surrounding the Oakland A's lately, some good news and some not so good news.

Finally, Wes makes a recommendation for a new funny show you should watch, and the app to watch it on is free for everyone.

Wes Hofmann is back with another episode of Joke Strap. Who else is back? The NHL and NBA as they are now both underway with the 2021-22 season!

What will become of Evander Kane and the San Jose Sharks now that the NHL has suspended Kane for 21 games?

Will Jimmy Garoppolo be ready to go for the San Francisco 49ers Sunday night against the Indianapolis Colts?
