  • Why You Need to Expect Excellence of Yourself

    [episode]

My guest today is a blogger, digital consultant, writer, podcaster, and serial entrepreneur.

He co-founded the design & digital agency, DMSQD, in 2010. The business grew rapidly and, as a result, my guest suffered from what he calls superhero syndrome and was working longer hours but becoming less productive.

His other ventures include co-founding Podcast Websites with John Lee Dumas and he is the co-founder of the Two Shots to the Head blog.

He is also the host of Excellence Expected, the number one Small Business Podcast in the UK.

      • How to See Business Opportunities Everywhere

My guest today is an actor, filmmaker, director and producer, journalist, event organizer, and entrepreneur.

As an actor, my guest has appeared in award-winning movies, T.V. shows and commercials, such as HBO’s True Blood, as well as the popular British soap operas, East Enders and Holby City.

He is the Co-founder of Stuck for Staff, the largest promotional staff resource in the U.K. and U.S.A. He is also the co-founder of SponsorBridge, and WeRehearse, a better video chat built specifically for actors.

My guest was named in Who’s Who of Britain’s Business Elite and also regularly speaks on business and marketing panels.

          • How to Determine the Lifetime Value of Your Idea (Before Starting)

My guest today is an App Store Optimization specialist, hustler, entrepreneur, idea machine, and a very good friend of mine.

When I met my today’s guest, he had a team developing over 30 apps per month — but he will tell you that he is not an app developer; in fact, he couldn't care less about apps. He looks at an app and doesn't see a coding challenge or an opportunity for creativity; he sees a revenue stream.

My guest has an uncanny ability to see business ideas, unlike anyone I have ever known. He is a modern day hustler that bounces from business to business and has become truly unemployable.

My guest today is a musician, programmer, writer, speaker, introvert, and entrepreneur.

My guest started out as a professional musician. Then he wanted a way to sell his own CDs on the internet, but the means to do this didn't exist. So his entrepreneurial spirit took over and he decided to create a website to sell his own music, then his friends music, then his friend's friends were asking, and CD Baby was born.

CD Baby went on to become the largest online seller of independent music and created $100 million in sales for 150,000 musicians. My guest sold the company in 2008 for $22 million and gave the proceeds to a charitable trust for music education.

He has published 34 books, including the Amazon bestseller, Anything You Want. He is also a frequent speaker at the TED Conference and his talks have had over 5 million views.
