Featuring former members of AKIMBO, Seattle loud-rock trio SANDRIDER released a two song 7" "Aviary /Baleen" on Alternative Tentacles a handful of months after releasing their meteorically heavy LP Enveletration (Satanik Royalty Records). The two tracks "AVIARY" and "BALEEN" offer a concise snapshot of what Sandrider does best: pulling together lead-heavy riffs and cathartic wails into songs that are somehow fun and infectiously catchy while also being messy and relatable angry. Much like their Seattle grunge/punk-rock predecessors, their sound is paired seamlessly with modern hopelessness as much as it is crushing beers and reading Dune.
