The controversial issue of drilling for shale gas in the Karoo in South Africa (a process known as hydraulic fracturing, or fracking) has had several recent developments.  Jonathan Deal, the Chairman of the Treasure the Karoo Action Group (TKAG) has been leading the campaign against hydraulic fracturing in the Karoo.
