On today's episode of the Cryptid Creator Corner, I chat with Jordan Alsaqa about Cooking with Monsters: The Beginner's Guide to Culinary Combat. Jordan and I discuss the process of bringing this book to life with co-creator and artist Vivian Truong, the inspiration behind mixing elements of a cooking competition with fighting monsters, and how his own life experiences influenced the story. Jordan and I discuss his journey in comics and he hints at a few things he has planned for the future (like a Kickstarter with Skylar Patridge planned for March and 2 more volumes of Cooking with Monsters). This was a wonderful conversation and Jordan's passion and enthusiasm for comics and storytelling is infectious, plus I loved Cooking with Monsters. Be sure to check out Jordan's website and if written interviews is more your thing, CBY's Cody interviewed both Jordan and Vivian. It's not too late for those that celebrate Christmas to grab a copy of Cooking with Monsters for a friend's or relative's stocking.
