Have you considered your hermeneutic today? Did you know you have one? This sermon highlights Jesus' own hermeneutic, His method of literary interpretation, which He uses to accurately show how all of scripture points to Himself. Pastor Josh McPherson highlights the fact that Jesus did this in His first interactions following His resurrection and invites us all to apply this same, right hermeneutic to Bible reading.

In our modern era of science, medicine administered by white-robed doctors in sterile hospitals, and courtrooms with endless appeal processes, we know very little of the state-sponsored terror that was capital punishment under the Roman Empire. Jesus was sent from sham trial to tragic death in less than 24 hours. In this meditation on the Murder of God, Pastor Josh draws out (in truthful and gruesome detail) what Jesus experienced in the last hours of his life…and why we call that hideous injustice “Good News.”

In perhaps the dumbest argument in history, the disciples squabble over who is greater. Jesus interrupts them to define true greatness.

Many wrong ideas have spread in the Church based on Jesus’ teaching of the end times, often resulting in people being fearful or confused. But that wasn’t His purpose at all. In this sermon, Pastor Josh untangles one of the most misunderstood passages in all of Luke, and in so doing, helps believers think rightly about history, the end times, and how we should prepare now.
