Samson—a man destined to bring honor to the One True God—became a figure whose choices often pointed people to false gods instead. How could someone with such a powerful calling fall so far? Yet, God still used Samson’s flawed life to protect His people and move His plan forward. What does that mean for us today? That even in our imperfection, we’re never beyond being part of God’s story. Join us as we dig into what Samson’s legacy really means and uncover the hope that lies within his story.

In this message, we delve into the tragic story of Samson, focusing on Judges 16:4-22, where he loses everything by falling under the influence of Delilah. Samson’s attraction to worldly temptations blinds him to evil and lures him away from God’s plan, eventually leading to his capture and loss of freedom. The sermon warns us of how love for the wrong things—materialism, lust, and deceit—can cloud judgment and lead us down a path of self-destruction. In Samson’s case, he learned too late, but the story encourages us to recognize when we're drifting away and to seek God before our mistakes have lasting consequences.

In Week 3 of our series on the story of Samson, we dive into how this mighty man, called by God to lead Israel, ultimately fell short of his purpose. Samson had an unbelievable opportunity to be the leader that Israel desperately needed, but instead of relying on God, he leaned on his own strength. Despite his incredible physical power, Samson was, in reality, the weakest strong man in the Bible. His downfall wasn't due to a lack of strength, but because of the destructive character traits he carried and we have to ask ourselves, "Where is the Samson in my heart?"

In this week's message, we're diving into the story of Samson from Judges 14 and 15. Samson's life was full of potential, but he craved more than what God intended for him. Whether it was in his relationships, his desires, or his ambitions, Samson wanted to take control. We'll explore how four things—sex, sweets, stuff, and respect—became stumbling blocks in his journey, leading to consequences that still speak to us today. What happens when a good thing becomes a "god" thing? Join us as we uncover the powerful lessons from Samson’s story that can reshape how we live.

Our journey begins with Samson in darkness—both physically and spiritually—exploring how boundaries, when rejected, can lead to destruction. Over the next five Sundays, we’ll examine the visitors who came to Samson in prison: his Father, his Best Man, a Fellow Soldier, Delilah, and his Executioner, each revealing a unique lesson about boundaries and God’s will. Join us as we uncover the tragedy of Samson, a man meant to be a hero, and learn how God’s boundaries are essential for our lives. Let's explore how rejecting the spirit of the age and embracing God-given boundaries can lead us back to the Father.
