He took the cloak that had fallen from Elijah and struck the water with it ldquo Where now is the Lord the God of Elijah rdquo he asked When he struck the water it divided to the right and to the left and he crossed over

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective Elijah was a human being even as we are He prayed earnestly that it would not rain and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years

For I have come to turn a man against his father a daughter against her mother a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law mdash a man rsquo s enemies will be the members of his own household

I no longer call you servants because a servant does not know his master rsquo s business Instead I have called you friends for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you You did not choose me but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit mdash fruit that will last mdash and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you

Also O Judah a harvest is appointed for you When I return the captives of My people

Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers and his mother called his name Jabez saying ldquo Because I bore him in pain rdquo And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying ldquo Oh that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory that Your hand would be with me and that You would keep me from evil that I may not cause pain rdquo So God granted him what he requested

So when Jesus had received the sour wine He said ldquo It is finished rdquo And bowing His head He gave up His spirit Therefore because it was the Preparation Day that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath for that Sabbath was a high day the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead they did not break His legs But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear and immediately blood and water came out And he who has seen has testified and his testimony is true and he knows that he is telling the truth so that you may believe For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled ldquo Not one of His bones shall be broken rdquo And again another Scripture says ldquo They shall look on Him whom they pierced rdquo

Then David said to the Philistine ldquo You come to me with a sword with a spear and with a javelin But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defied

My brethren count it all joy when you fall into various trials knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience But let patience have its perfect work that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing If any of you lacks wisdom let him ask of God who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to him

Unless the Lord builds the house They labor in vain who build it Unless the Lord guards the city The watchman stays awake in vain It is vain for you to rise up early To sit up late To eat the bread of sorrows For so He gives His beloved sleep
