An Alumni of New England Conservatory of Music , Mitch discusses his process of creating original music. Mitch is a world renown musician and composer who has scored for many major films, toured the world playing piano , and has produced many albums.
Using as a starting point his selection, Townsend Detective Agency , from his album Hard Listening vol 2 , Mitch shares his love for older musical styles and languages, (roughly those from, say, the forties through the 60s and 70s) ideas about shifting from one section to another in a piece of music, the uses of restrictions as a boost to improvisation and much more.
