Today we see Jonah try to escape God's mission only to be swallowed by a big fish and vomited up after 3 days in its stomach. Then he is angry when God shows mercy to a repentant people. God's gonna do what God wants to do.

Today we see Israel and Judah continue to follow God for a little while then turn to other gods. Also, God performs a shocking miracle with the bones of the deceased prophet Elisha.

Today we see Israel and Judah continuing in their back-and-forth habit of worshiping the one true God. They don't seem to see the trend: following God brings blessing and worshiping other gods leads to misery and death.

Today we see some gruesome images as Jehu is anointed king to fulfill God's command and kill all of the remaining house of Ahab. (King Ahab was the husband of Jezebel who had Naboth killed in order to get his vineyard. I don't explain that very well in the recording, so just want to make that clear.)
