Hosts Atoya Burleson and Tia Avril are back for another episode of the insideLINES podcast! 

The ladies kick off the episode with highlights from their week! Atoya had a pretty chill weekend after enjoying her boys’ high school football game. Tia spent the weekend in Las Vegas after diverting a planned trip to Tampa due to Hurricane Ian!

Then it’s on to Hot Takes where Atoya and Tia are discussing Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Tua, a 3rd year QB, sustained a blow to the head during a week 3 game versus the Bills. He stood up following the hit shaking his head and then staggered a handful of steps before falling to his knees. He missed the rest of the game citing a back injury. He then went on to play four days later in the Thursday night game versus the Bengals. In the 2nd quarter of the game, Tua was sacked, and when he hit the ground, he stayed there in what appeared to be unconsciousness with his fingers rigid. Of course he was diagnosed with a concussion, raising concerns on if he even should have been playing in the first place. Tia and Atoya share their thoughts on the entire situation. 

Finally, the ladies welcome Jovi Te’o! Jovi, aspiring nurse practitioner and wife of NFL free agent Manti Te’o, chats with Atoya and Tia about how she became a fitness enthusiast and coach and why she’s now pursuing her nursing degree. She also shares her thoughts on Manti’s new Netflix documentary, Untold: The Girlfriend Who Didn’t Exist and if her family has even forgiven the perpetrator who catfished Manti. Listen in as the ladies discuss the Te’os current transition out of football, welcoming baby #2, and so much more!
