Phil Wilhelm has his PhD in Education, specializing in curriculum and instruction. He taught in the public school system for years before moving to teach at the university level for 10 years! He lives outside of Chicago, Illinois in the country with his family and 2 dogs, Ludwig and Sebastian!

While in the teaching scene, he found direct sales and found that he had a natural talent for it! He has 27 years of direct sales experience under his belt! He was instantly intrigued by the idea of being directly rewarded for personal efforts!

Despite his natural abilities and his love of the thrill of closing a sale, Dr. Phil found himself living a life that didn’t feel completely right. He was working a job with hours that others had set for him, and even in his direct sales business he felt like he was working his tail off, but still not making a ton of money…he felt stuck.

Then he found something that changed everything for him, and now he is on a mission to share it with the world!

Growing up in the era of Sex and the City and Bridget Jones, Kate Bee believed her drinking was simply what successful, independent women did.

After all, she was a journalist and TV producer for the BBC – drinking after work was how people socialized. Except she was tired of feeling hungover and ashamed about what felt like more drinking than was healthy. 

When Kate decided to get sober, she was disappointed to find the only real support was through AA. She attended a few meetings, but left feeling like she didn’t fit in because she was getting sober before  her drinking had negatively impacted her work or relationships. But, there was no middle ground – it seemed like you either didn’t have a real problem or you had to be a full-blown alcoholic to get help.  

That’s why Kate founded The Sober School, a coaching program that helps women feel inspired and empowered by their decision to quit drinking. She helps women who are ready to start living their best life learn how to do it without a glass of wine in hand.  Kate’s course helps women understand why they really drink, so they can change their relationship with alcohol for good. 

Kate wisely poses this question: Rather than asking whether you’re “drinking” (read: addiction, odd habit, etc.) is “bad” enough, ask “is this thing good enough? Does it deserve a place in my one and only life?” Our life, all things considered, is rather short…so why fill it up with things that are not “good enough”?

This conversation of joy started as Ashlee and I just wanted to use each other as accountability partners to make sure we found joy each week! We were looking around at ourselves and all of our friends and thinking, “Oh my gosh, does anybody find joy in motherhood?” We wanted to change that!

When I first started my journey towards finding true, lasting joy…it honestly felt a little lonely and isolating. I started having to walk away from where everyone else was standing so that I could get clear on what it was exactly that gave me true joy. As I started getting more comfortable with that idea, I learned that boundaries were a very important part of this journey of joy!

“Seven years ago, I found myself single at a time in life when I didn’t expect to be. I had just ended a 10- year relationship/marriage at an age when many women think about starting families or already have them. Being single was not what I had imagined. I had always assumed that I would be settled, not still searching for “the one”.        

I was born in the 1970s and married in my 20s, so I really had missed online dating all together. In fact, I had really missed dating. I was what some might call a serial monogamist, going from one long-term relationship to the next with little to no break in between. Even though it wasn’t the healthiest of practices, I threw myself back into dating unhealed and unprepared, because my natural instinct was to repeat that same pattern once again. I didn’t have a mentor or coach or even an example of how to handle dating post-divorce in my late thirties. I was just winging it, and my results absolutely reflected that….        

But still, I started my dating journey. It would last for five years. At times, those five years felt unbearable. I could not understand why it was so difficult to find my person. I was successful in all other aspects of my life. I was building a business that I loved, I had great friendships, and I’m part of a supportive family. No matter how hard I tried, this part of my life just wasn’t working….        

And then I finally cracked the code…”
