  • Redefining + Deepening Joyful Living (Episode 81)
Recently, I’ve found myself reflecting on this past season of my life; the shifts in beliefs and thoughts and how those shifts have impacted my idea of joyful living is. I challenge you to do the same – to check in on your 2017 and recognize what you have learned and how you have grown.

For me personally, it’s been a season of change when it comes to defining relationships with some of the people that are closest to me. There were events that took place that challenged me to look closely at my personal and even religious beliefs. Sometimes the universe demands that we stop and take a look at the path we’re on.
As I’ve looked deeper at my own convictions, I’ve found that I have found a redefinition of Joyful Living. I’ve discovered that true Joyful Living for me can be broken down into two concepts –
    Meaningful Connection
    Wholehearted Expression
I’m excited to share more with you on these concepts as we move forward together into 2018. Part of this is a deeper focus on love – feeling love and giving love. For me, the love I feel in a meaningful connection has to do with feeling seen, heard and valued. I share more about this in the podcast.

Reminds me of this powerful thought about Mary (mother of Jesus) from Marion Woodman (quoted on the podcast):
“…she has literally or figuratively been through the fire and has emerged with an immense capacity to love… She suffered the miracle of the fire. The hidden treasure that filled her with shame and led to accusations of whoredom and adultery was nothing less than the Divine Child, her own spiritual identity, the I am that I am.” – Marion Woodman
I’m also excited to grow with you in the coming new year! My hope is that 2018 is a year full of MORE BLOOMING and MORE JOY. Let’s work on identifying the skills needed to breakthrough and make our lives better – to make the difference we came here to make! As we continue to seek out what brings joy into our lives and how much that joy is attached to love, we’ll begin to feel more aliveness on our path.
I hope you enjoy this podcast and know how honored I am to have a relationship with you. I do not take this privilege lightly!

  • Finding Joy in Everyday Moments // Special Guest Pam Baumeister (Episode 80)
I’m excited for you to join me for another amazing podcast!
This week I get to spend some time talking with my good friend Pam Baumeister who is seriously one of the most down-to-earth and joyful people I know. Pam and I have worked together in the past and have been both professional and personal friends for several years now.

What does Joyful Living look like for Pam?
The ability to put a smile on your face even on the days when you don’t feel like smiling. Yes, there may be times when you just have to fake it. As Pam shares, we tend to think that there are certain situations or places that will make us happy, but the truth is, we have the ability to be happy in ANY situation.
And Pam would definitely know! During our conversation, she shares a particularly difficult challenge that she has faced for several years and continues to deal with to this day. It’s the sort of life-changing twist that would send many of us running away with our tails between our legs. Yet Pam has learned to overcome the negative feelings that first came with this challenge and find a way to see the joy in everyday moments.
We talk about embracing the time we have with our children and how important it is to take the time to appreciate the small moments of WONDER and MAGIC that happen every day. Part of that includes engaging and participating more in our children’s lives. It all goes by so quick and we have to be aware of the time we have with our most valuable relationships.
Pam does a great job of putting things into PERSPECTIVE and being able to appreciate what we have. She points out that everyone has something to be grateful for – to be happy about. It’s so crucial that we stop every now and then and take inventory of the all of the things we have in our lives that truly bring us joy.
If we anticipate bad things to come, they will definitely come. If we anticipate great things in life to happen, they will happen! The trick then becomes putting our work and effort towards the great things.
It’s important to ask ourselves, “Am I WILLING to feel more joy?” And as Pam points out, once we identify our upper limits of true happiness, are we going to continue to break through to new levels of joy or are we going to be the ones to hold ourselves back?
There are so many motivating and thought-provoking ideas that come up during my conversation with Pam. I can’t wait for you to listen for yourself and share your thoughts and feelings with me!

    ABOUT PAM BAUMEISTER // WWW.PAMBAUMEISTER.COM
From youth, Pam Baumeister sought joy from creating things. In her adult life she has been a creator on radio and the printed page, but throughout the years her one passion was art. This primarily self-taught artist has found her stride with watercolor. She likes the untethered nature of watercolor because, she says, “it reminds me how much of life is unplanned and spontaneous.” Her sense of humor and ability to let go of what was originally planned continues to be challenged as she pursues more depth, sheer joy, and warmth in her paintings.
Through the years, she has found that her best models for drawing and painting have been her four spunky, unpredictable, and elusive daughters. She continues to make an effort to see them and capture their pure and raw beauty and has a vision for all parents to see their children this way. Pam continues to keep her eyes open to the world of adventure and playful moments — especially of children at play — that she can capture on a crisp piece of watercolor paper.

  • Work Smart AND Find Joy // Special Guest Pam Wasley (Episode 79)
One of the things I most enjoyed in talking with this week’s Joyful Living podcast guest, Pam Wasley, is her willingness to discuss some of the trials and challenges she faced as she started her businesses. Too often, we only see the “pretty side” of the start-up process and don’t hear the “ugly.” But Pam has a unique view of the mistakes she’s made over the years – by sharing them, she can help those she mentors to avoid the same mistakes.
This is just one of the many wonderful tidbits Pam shared with me in our discussion. We started off talking about the many changes she has seen in being an entrepreneur over the years. Pam has been associated with several businesses over the years. A few of them have been larger companies that involved many moving parts.

Pam talks about the advancement of technology and how that has impacted growing businesses both small and large. And while she definitely sees the positives of mobile phones for communicating and automating business processes, she is quick to point out that we all need time to DETACH and UNPLUG from our phones. She says it’s important to give our minds time to rest without constantly bombarding ourselves with information and technology.
Give me an AMEN if you can relate to that!!
I think we all notice how quickly time can go when we’re constantly connected and glued to our screens. I recognize it in my own life, but also with friends, family members, and even clients I have worked with.
Many of those who work in the health field point to the growing issue we have as a society with getting enough sleep. Everyone seems to realize how important it is to get the proper amount of sleep – we take medications, eat or drink, and even read or watch television to try and help us “relax” so we can get to sleep. Imagine if we focused more on detaching from electronics and technology to help our minds slow down and relax!
Pam also shared a list of basic questions that she often gets asked from those seeking advice as they start a new business. Some of these questions include:

    * How do I actually start my business legally?
    * What should I charge for my products and services?
    * What’s the best way to get new clients?
    * Which marketing techniques should I use?
    * What paperwork/contracts do I need?
    * Why do I lose clients?

    Any of these sound familiar?
Pam has actually written a book titled “How I Fired My Boss and Made More Money” to address these common questions. In it, she shares the answers she’s discovered over the years, sometimes by making mistakes. It’s a passion of hers to not only learn from her experience, but to share it with others. That’s the inspiration for this book.
So here’s the best part…she’s actually sharing this book with Joyful Living listeners for FREE! You can go to her website and download a PDF version of her book right now! www.ceriusexecutives.com/joyfulliving
Awesome, right?! I know I have had some of these questions over the years and am so excited to have this fantastic resource available.

One last point I want to share…Pam said something that really stuck with me during our conversation:
“You can work smart and still have a life.”
So true! And I honestly believe that having a “life” comes from taking the moments to focus on what brings you JOY. The big successes in your work and business will always feel great, but don’t let them overshadow the small and simple joys you feel each and every day. When you are able to recognize and appreciate those joys, you are truly winning!

  • Persistence, Growth, and Possibility // Special Guest Adam Urbanski (Episode 78)
It’s one thing to see ads and articles touting the successful business owner making six-figures. It’s another thing to actually hear the story behind the success…the beginning stages, the real struggles that came up at each step of the process and the eventual life lessons that often pave the way for those that follow. That’s why I am so excited about this week’s podcast, where we get to hear more of the story behind the success of Adam Urbanski.
At this point in his life, Adam has been able to achieve success in many different areas, including building, losing, and then re-building his business. He says that he often hears from people wanting to know what he is doing right now to be successful, but not so often from those that want to hear the genesis of his business – what his first steps were and how he started.

I love Adam’s willingness to share his story with us. Here is this highly successful businessperson who is humble enough to talk through some of the beginning steps he took that led him to where he is now. As he points out, it’s the grit and determination of those early stages of building a business that become the most important and valuable story.
Early in our conversation, Adam makes a statement that is so relatable for so many of us…
“Too many people buy into a story of, ‘this is why I can’t,’ instead of stopping and asking themselves, ‘how can I?’”
    So true!
In my own experience, I often run into people who start their business with a “hobby mindset.” It’s something they’re willing to try and see, but they don’t seem to be fully committed, unknowingly leaving the door open for failure to creep in.
Adam has a saying – “Plan B is for losers.” He goes on to explain that when he hears someone say “I’ll give it a shot for 90 days,” he can almost guarantee that nothing will happen in those 90 days. By putting a timeline on it, they are essentially saying they aren’t serious enough. True passion has no timeline.
By the way, if you want to hear a story of true commitment and passion, listen to Adam share his story on how he first came to America from Poland and the steps and challenges he faced just to get to the States!

Later in our conversation, Adam shares some specific insight into a system he has used and taught to grow sales by 900%. Out of all of the different methods and strategies he shares with his clients for growing sales, he says the 3 most important steps are these:

    * Capture – This includes identifying your crowd and find the most effective way to get them to connect with you…whether it’s subscribing to your YouTube channel or opting in for blog updates.
    * Conversion – What strategies can you put into place that will increase the conversion of the leads you have captured.
    * Cash Value – Analyzing the product or service you sell and making sure there is an appropriate price tag associated with it.

Adam says he has seen tremendous growth in his own business and with those he works with by simply focusing on these 3 key factors. Listen to the podcast to hear him expound on these points and share examples.
This turned out to be an epic podcast and I’m very excited for you to listen to it! There are many wonderful nuggets of advice and direction that I know can help anyone who is looking to grow their business and achieve joy in their lives.

  • Small Moments of Pure Joy // Special Guest Molly Mahoney (Episode 77)
In this week’s Joyful Living podcast, you’ll hear the wonderful conversation I was able to have with Molly Mahoney.
Molly happens to share many of my thoughts and passions for living a joyful life and talking to her, it felt like I was connecting with a long-lost soul sister! I was surprised at how many joyful connections I share with Molly…from big ideas to small details.

What I loved most about hearing from Molly is her strong conviction of living a joyful life no matter what. Here is a person who has trained herself over the years to find specific ways to recognize even the smallest joys in her everyday life.  She shares with us her methods for recording those small bits of happiness and making room for them in even the most hectic of schedules.
Molly’s thoughts reminded me so much of how important it is to tune in to what makes us happy every single day. It might be the way a piece of handmade felt feels in your fingers, the first sip of your favorite cup of coffee or the way the breeze hits you when you walk outside. It’s so easy to get caught up in trying to be a better mom or building your business to the next level or even living up to someone else’s definition of joy that we often overlook the simple moments of joy that are happening every single day.
We all owe it to ourselves to take the time to recognize and enjoy these moments of pure joy that flow into our daily lives.  When we fail to recognize joy, we can’t really expect to bring our A-game when it comes to running a business or home successfully. Experiencing joy fills us up so that we are ready to tackle those other important tasks in life.
I hope you’ll take the time to listen to this amazing conversation I had with Molly, where we discuss a wide range of topics – from bubble baths to Facebook bots! Molly also shares a special gift with all Joyful Living listeners that I’m sure you will find valuable.

  • Simplicity and Space // Special Guest Milana Leshinsky (Episode 76)
I was only 20 minutes into my conversation with this week’s special guest, Milana Leshinsky, when she shared this wonderful nugget with me:
“Imagine that growing your business is as simple as waking up and being you.”
    Wow!
This is just one of several powerful statements Milana made during our conversation that stuck with me long after our interview was over. Her insight and experience is invaluable to anyone looking to find the balance between building a business that fits your life and the growth and success you desire.

Milana shares several key lessons she has learned over the years as she has built several businesses from the ground up. She came to the United States as a musician from the Ukraine and quickly learned that her set of “super skills” would lead her on a completely different path.
Her story is inspiring and very educational… and so relatable for anyone on the journey of entrepreneurship.

“How much space are you willing to let your business take up in your life?”
Such an important question and another one of my favorite ah-ha moments from Milana! It made me stop and think about times in the past when I’ve maybe been too involved with my business at the expense of missing time with family or spending time finding joy in my life. Milana assures us that by staying focused on our passion and true motivation, we can run a business that is motivating, fulfilling, and even FUN… without missing out on creating our personal joy.

“Your business vision is guided by the vision for your life.”
We all have a unique vision for the joyful life we want to create. Is our business in line with that vision? How often do we find ourselves in a position where the work we do is becoming more of a distraction or hindrance to achieving what we really want? Listen to Milana share an important discovery she made while trying to push a part of her business that wasn’t part of her life’s vision (keyword – migraine headaches!).

    “Simplicity is subjective.”
Milana is big on simplicity and she shares her thoughts on how we can all be more successful in business and in our personal lives by finding our “simplicity zone.” But she’s quick to point out that simplicity is different for everyone. This is where our own “super skills” come into play – the things that we are naturally good at, but don’t always recognize.

I just LOVE the insights that show up and the wisdom we get to share together on this joyful living journey! Milana is a remarkable example and teacher, and it was such a privilege to connect with her and feel of her passion and energy for creating joy and simplicity in life and in business.
I would love to hear your thoughts about today’s conversation and to take in your perspective on how we can each find and create clarity, space, simplicity and JOY in our lives. Head on over to the Soulful Business and Branding Facebook Group to share!

  • Staying True to What You Really Enjoy // Special Guest Gavin Zuchlinski (Episode 75)
Anyone who has listened to the show regularly in the past will quickly realize why Gavin Zuchlinski is perfect for this audience. With so many of us trying our best to grow our businesses while balancing family, home and the many other pieces of life, it’s wonderful to hear from someone with a firm belief that work should be fun!
Gavin is the founder of Acuity, the most intuitive and easy-to-use scheduling software on the planet. They say necessity is the mother of invention – hear how Gavin’s own mother played an important role in the creation and development of Acuity… and how he did it with a focus on staying true to what he really enjoys.

Imagine growing your business with the sole purpose of doing what you really LOVE to do…without the worry and stress of turning a profit or reaching the next level. That’s exactly what Gavin was allowed to do as he grew Acuity to what it is today. In the process, he learned some valuable and inspiring lessons that we can all learn from.
So how do you go about building a business by focusing solely on what makes you happy and thoroughly enjoying every minute of it? For Gavin, it was all about concentrating on the value he was able to bring to his clients. He shares with us that, in the beginning especially, it was essential to stay focused on the VALUE of his software while avoiding getting caught up with logistics and infrastructure.
By the way, if you haven’t checked out Acuity yet, you really should! I use it myself (full disclosure) and have been absolutely amazed at how much time I save and how much more productive I can be with my time.
When I asked Gavin what pitfalls he most often sees in working with entrepreneurs, he mentioned the following:
    1. Providing convenience for your clients to access your value.
One-on-one time with your clients is the most valuable part of your business. Spending too much time scheduling appointments, including all of the back and forth texts and emails, slows you down and prevents you from working directly with your clients. Making the scheduling simpler and more convenient helps you get the most value to your clients sooner.
    2. Focusing on perfection.
Gavin says that he sees many entrepreneurs get so caught up with perfecting their logistics, brand or marketing that they often miss key opportunities. His advice – let those things come into play naturally. Instead, focus on adding value to your business.
    3. Spending time wisely.
When Acuity was first getting started, Gavin was still working a separate full-time job, which forced him to become very particular about what he spent his time on. Again, he suggests continuing to keep an eye on value – know the real worth and impact of what you offer to your clients and spend your time accordingly. This is exactly what Acuity was built to do.
There are so many other fantastic nuggets of advice and insight that Gavin shares throughout this podcast. If you’re anything like me, you will finish listening with at least 2 or 3 ideas running through your head of how you can make some adjustments in your own business, and how to do so in a way that allows you to thrive in your zone of genius and create more joy in your life!

    ABOUT GAVIN ZUCHLINSKI // www.acuityscheduling.com
Gavin Zuchlinski is the founder of Acuity Scheduling, the slickest way for businesses to automate and manage their appointments online, allowing clients to schedule themselves. Gavin is a self-professed tech geek and espresso maniac (a word he does not use lightly) who wholeheartedly believes that business should be fun.

  • Freedom Beyond Stories // Special Guest Calli Lewis (Episode 74)
One of the things I value most in life and throughout my business and podcasting journey, is the gift of being able to connect with and build relationships with so many remarkable people.
In our quest for more joyful lives, it’s so important to find people that can be there in the best AND the worst times.
For me, Calli Lewis has been one of those people.
Calli and I have had the pleasure and fun of helping each other face life’s adventures and challenges, and learn what we can along the way. We struggle together, shift perspectives with each other, and, at the end of the day, enjoy some good laughs and soak in more joy together.

Today, we dive into another honest and refreshing conversation about the stories that hold us back from experiencing life with freedom and chasing the things we really desire for ourselves and those we love.
As you listen in, I invite you to ask yourself the following questions:

    * What do you really want?
    * Why do you feel or think that you can’t you have what you want?
    * What’s holding you back from really feeling free?

Oftentimes, we let fear or self-imposed limitations keep us from the abundance, joy, freedom, and love we desire. But, what would happen if we allowed ourselves to really explore those fears and limitations and maybe even to let them go?
After all, it’s when we finally allow ourselves to SEE what’s holding us back before we can actually get to work on changing it!
YOU ARE BRILLIANT, BEAUTIFUL, AND MAGNIFICENT!
So, don’t let the stories looming under the surface stop you from setting yourself free to be everything you are and to have what you truly want. Listen to the pieces of your heart that are showing you your dreams and urging you to live bigger and seek even more joy.
And, if you’re feeling alone in this journey or just need some extra love, support, and power from other women traveling similar paths, PLEASE come join us in the Joyful Living Facebook Group.
We would LOVE to connect with you, cheer you on, and be with you as you experience the ups and downs that so many of us face. My intention is for the group to be a beautiful network of women empowering each other to share, learn, grow, and find joy.
    Hope to see you there!

  • Soulful Creation (Episode 73)
You know you were born for something more. You can feel it inside of you. And yet, your everyday life may not seem to be mirroring that. You may even be feeling like your dreams are not going to come true, or maybe some have and it feels like they didn’t really change your life or how you feel about yourself like you thought they would. Maybe you’ve created lots of financial success or a smokin’ hot body, but still feel empty or like your relationships just aren’t thriving. OR maybe you’re holding back on creating what you really desire because you’re afraid it won’t really matter and make a difference.
WHATEVER your story is about why you’re playing smaller or not really leaning in fully to JOY each and every day, today’s episode of the Joyful Living Podcast will support you in breaking free so you can follow your heart and soul and find more of what you’ve been looking for.

In today’s episode I share how to create our dreams and goals IN FLOW + ON FIRE. Listen in as I explain what soulful creation has actually looked like in my life, so you can lean in to soulful creation even more in your life by understanding how this all can work harmoniously.
So many of us play small and keep our dreams quiet because we think it’s “better” for everyone and will rock the boat of our lives too greatly to actually listen and take action. Others of us may feel frustrated from taking action, but feeling like we’re never going to get anywhere and our dreams will go unmet.
We discuss the hunger that lives within all of our hearts and souls and how too many of us live starving instead of meeting this hunger and thirst, able to meet the needs and satiate the desires within.
I also share more about the recent birth of one of my BIG heart + soul dreams: Soul Brand Camp. It was epic, magical + life-changing for myself and all who attended. And yet, it was terrifying at many moments to create and almost didn’t happen due to the subconscious self-sabotage at work. Listen in to learn how to navigate these uncharted waters of your soul to finally create what you’ve been craving and dreaming of for so long.
I also mention how I was begged to do another Soul Brand Camp, so registration is live now for the next event in October and you can see the details by clicking the image below. We’d LOVE to have you join us if your soul is calling for this epic, magic + life-changing weekend! In order to keep it a small, intimate experience, in person tickets are limited and are expected to sell out, so if you want to be there, snag your ticket soon. SOOOO BEAUTIFUL + YUMMY!!!

Here’s what attendees are saying about their experience at Brand Camp:
“Thank you Quinn!! What an amazing, insightful, soulful, very powerful workshop!! You are truly amazing and so gifted!!” – Marian Evans-Dimarco
“I was so lucky to be part of something amazing today!! I didn’t want the day to end. I went to Soul Brand Camp and was so enlightened, cheered on and loved by so many wonderful women!! • The Courage to be Intentional // Special Guest Nicole Holland (Episode 72)
Host of two hot podcasts; The Business Building Rockstars Show & Get Guest Ready, Nicole Holland helps subject matter experts increase their visibility exponentially through podcast guesting to create greater impact, influence, and income. I hope you’ll listen in as she shares her passion and perspective on intention and quality time in life and in business!
Today, we talk about the importance and joy in being PRESENT IN THE MOMENT, we remember that it takes COURAGE to be intentional, and we take comfort in the reality that self-awareness is an ongoing journey.

We all encounter challenges, trials, and obstacles in life, in relationships, and in business. Worry and stress can creep in and overwhelm us so easily, if we let them.
Nicole shares an insightful tip for gaining clarity in those moments of worry: she simply pauses and asks herself, “Whose business is this? Is the thing that’s causing my stress and worry MY business? Someone else’s business? Or, is it God’s business?”
The brilliance in asking these questions is that, once you identify who’s business it is, you can then choose how to respond. If the issue isn’t something that you have direct control over or can’t easily manage, then it’s simply not your business! And, if it’s not your business, there’s no use worrying about it any more.
As you let go of the things you can’t control, you’re better able to focus your intentions and efforts on being present in your life and really living in the moment.
Living in the moment isn’t just about using our time wisely, but about the quality of the time we spend. Time is one of the few limited resources we have, and it’s often squandered so easily because we get distracted.
Have you ever had the sense that you’re living your life on autopilot? Have you had those moments when you look around and wonder if your life or business really reflect what’s most important to you?
That is what living intentionally is all about. It’s about choosing the walk the path of self-awareness… and to return to that path over and over again.

As you go through the ups and downs in life, remember to ask yourself what’s really important to you. Be open and honest with yourself about how you want to run your life, your business, and your household.
Nicole encourages us to find what it is that we can’t live without doing, having, or becoming… and then to commit wholeheartedly to realizing that passion and those dreams in our lives. Then, from there, it’s all about just enjoying the journey and remembering that, even when we encounter something that looks bad on the surface, there’s always a lesson to be learned, an opportunity to take, and joy to be found.
