At our live taping at UCB, I sat down with Robby Baitz, the prolific, Pulitzer Prize and Drama Desk nominated, Tony award winning playwright. He has also written for TV and Film, including Alias and The West Wing and he also co-created the TV show Brothers and Sisters, and has a new show in the works. He also acts.
You will get hear one his latest works read aloud. It is a 10 minute play for a benefit for Playwright Horizons. It is clearly the beginning and end of my stage career, but try not to hold that against him.
It was a sheer delight to interview him. I am probably one of many who consider him a mentor. He has certainly had his far share of suffering, despite the duly deserved success. Perhaps that's why Baitz reveals humanity, humility, and humor, on the page and off.
