It is often difficult to discern the connections between Old Testament

ethics and our contemporary situation.  However, the church should be

confident in the Old Testament as a rich ethical resource containing

wisdom which can speak to present problems of public policy and the

organisation of political society more generally.  Michael Schluter suggests

practical ways in which Old Testament ethics can provide innovative and

wise insights for public life in the UK today.
