Florida’s “Alligator Alcatraz” detention camp in the Everglades has been ordered to shut down by a federal judge. Judge Kathleen M. Williams cited rushed construction, ignored environmental protections, and reports of inhumane conditions. Environmental groups and the Muscogee tribe called the ruling a victory, while Gov. Ron DeSantis’ spokesman Alex Lanfranconi dismissed it, saying, “The deportations will continue until morale improves.”
