Last week we were midway through chapter 7 titled, “Hatred’s Peace.” And as we noted, contrary to the propaganda from representatives of Islam and swallowed and presented by news media, Islam is not and never was a religion of peace. Furthermore, the peace Muslims are seeking involves the annihilation of Israel and bringing the world into submission to Islam and Allah.

In this segment of our program, we are continuing our discussion of Dave Hunt’s new book Judgment Day! Islam, Israel, and the Nations. And, Dave, last week, as you remember, we were in Chapter 2, titled, “Hatred’s Final Solution,” and we were explaining the only rational basis for anti-Semitism, which I’m sure surprised more than a few of our listeners. I think it bears repeating for any new listeners that have joined us.

Dave: Well, Tom, first of all, anti-Semitism is an established fact in the world; it was foretold in the Bible.

Tom: Dave, this is hating Jews.

In this segment of our program, Dave Hunt and I will be discussing his new book Judgment Day! Islam, Israel, and the Nations. As we mentioned last week, it’s not a book that you would find in a make-you-happy-and feel-good-about-the-world-situation section of your local book store. On the other hand, if anyone is interested in truth - that is, what God has declared about what’s taking place in the world today - this book is for you. 

Now, Dave, before we pick up where we left off last week, could you give our listeners a brief synopsis of the book?

Dave: Tom, that’s not easy to do, but what we are trying to do in the book is present the truth - the truth about the Middle East, the truth about our world today, what’s happening, what’s been happening. So we give you not only the truth from the Word of God, the truth from prophecy, but from history as well. I use prophecies that are irrefutably for our day, and we talked about a couple of them last week. You cannot escape it: they are being fulfilled in our day. They pertain to Israel; Israel is the major topic in the Bible.

Abraham is called “the Friend of God” (James 2:23), an expression used of no other person in the Bible. As a result of that relationship, God made an “everlasting covenant” with His special friend (Genesis 17:7,13,19; 1 Chronicles 16:16-18; Psalm 105:8-12; 118:9, etc.) that extended to Abraham's descendants for all time.

This covenant involved (1) the promised land and (2) the promised Messiah. Only in the Messiah could God fulfill His pledge to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: “in thee [and in thy seed] shall all families [or nations] of the earth be blessed” (Genesis 12:3; 22:18; 26:4; 28:14). As for the land, God’s promise was clear: “For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever” (Genesis 13:15); “...the LORD made a covenant with Abram,... Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river...Euphrates” (Genesis 15:18); “...all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession…” (Genesis 17:7-8).

Abraham had several sons: Ishmael through his wife Sarah's Egyptian maid, Hagar; Isaac through his wife Sarah; and six others through Keturah, whom he married after Sarah died (Genesis 25:1-2).

Dave, the title is certainly thought-provoking. Most folks wouldn’t get the impression that it’s a happy, feel-good-about-the-world-situation sort of book, so can you give us a synopsis of the book and tell us why you wrote it?

Dave: Well, Tom, we have a lot of happy, feel-good books. That is mostly what is being written out there. We try to hide our heads in the sand; we don’t want to face the problems that are in the world today. And probably the greatest challenge - the greatest danger to the entire world - is Islam. And the Bible is filled with very clear and frightening (really frightening) declarations by God of the judgment He is going to bring upon this world. Why is He going to do that? Well, that’s what we talk about, and we give you the documentation from prophecy in the Bible, from history, and from the daily news, what is happening in our world. This world is ripening for God’s judgment.
