This episode features the first Vagina Jul interview with Haley Mangette--a Sexual Violence Prevention and Project Coordinator at Kalamazoo College. Haley's knowledge of prevention advocacy and the ins & outs of the DOJ’s Office of Violence Against Women Grant gives us a unique view of how colleges prevent and handle sexual violence/assault/abuse. This interview is not only important to listen to for vagina-owners, but everyone in between, as it points out how important continuous education and revision of how we talk about sex can be!

In my VERY FIRST Vagina Jul Episode I am talking about the Notorious RBG...yes that's right, Ruth Bader Ginsburg! After hearing the devastating news about her passing I knew it would be only right to push my other podcast ideas aside and to focus on the life and impact of this amazing feminist icon. In the episode I go over who she is (because funny enough some of you have no idea??), what she did to impact how we live today, and what is happening now that she has passed. I do want to note that although she is a major feminist icon and was marginalized all her life for being a Jewish woman, she also had a lot of power and privilege which can and should be critiqued in how she ruled. Overall though, Ruth was a badass and somebody I looked up to, so it is my honor to give you Episode 1: The Notorious RBG.

I'm super excited to announce that I will be starting my very first PODCAST! The Vagina Jul Podcast has been formulating in my mind for a while now and I decided I couldn't go any longer with just having it as an idea. I have listened to many of you talk about things revolving around and intersecting with vaginas/femininity/gender/sexuality/education/etc and have found most people want to talk about these things, but just don't have space to do such...so I am here to give you that ability!
