This November, New Yorkers will be weighing in on a ballot measure that will determine if the state can borrow up to $4.2 billion to finance environmentally friendly projects.
Julie Tighe, the president of the New York League of Conservation Voters, joined Errol to explain the importance of the measure, which will address climate change, land conservation and flood prevention initiatives. Tighe has been working on the measure for three years, since the Cuomo administration, but said it’s been under Gov. Kathy Hochul that she has been able to get it prioritized.
She also discussed whether New York will be able to meet its goal to reduce emissions, as the controversial congestion pricing plan moves forward.
