  • J&S - Sidequests: Memories of the Final Fantasy Legend Trilogy (Feat. Ryan of ShyRyGaming)
In the first of this series of quickfire, live-stream discussion episodes, Joey and Ryan (of ShyRyGaming) talk about their memories and early childhood experiences with the Final Fantasy Legend titles. They explore the FFL experience in 2021, some in-depth mechanics, tips, and criticism of these titles.
Further in are some brief asides about SaGa games, influences on Pokemon, handheld gaming in the 90s, and Joey makes Ryan an offer he can’t refuse.
    * Please note that the “Sidequests” series of episodes are freeform, live-streamed, discussion-based episodes—the audio fidelity of which may be more “rough” and noisy than the mainline J&S episodes

  • The Darkness After the Next: Most Anticipated Games of 2021 (feat. John Frank of Rogue North)
Is there darkness after the next? Joey and John (of Rogue North) talk about their most anticipated games of 2021, why Horizon rules, Final Fantasy Elitism, and why John would make a great therapist.
Note: We are not responsible for anyone alcohol-poisoning themselves for taking a shot every time one of us says the word “interesting” on this episode.

  • Pokemon Nostalgia and Playthrough Preferences (feat. Buck and Chuck Gaming)
Quick note about the audio of this episode: Due to some issues with corruption and fidelity, some of the audio on this episode might not be up to the usual standards. Some choppiness or clipping may occur, although it shouldn’t be too distracting!
Joey is joined by best buds, Buck and Chuck Gaming to deliver some comfortably warm Pokemon nostalgia!
It’s a bit more freeform and conversational than most of our other podcasts, and we were happy to get Chuck and Buck in on it!
Tune in and listen to us wax nostalgic about the first games in the series, what we look for in Pokemon games, the idiosyncratic ways we play these titles, and the youthful wonder of experiencing these games for the first time.

  • Pokemon Sword and Shield Pre-Release Discussion Part 2: New Pokemon Analysis and Discussion
(Please be forewarned we are discussing LEAKS AND SPOILERS. For the best listener experience, we recommend being at least somewhat familiar with what has been found in the game thus far.)
Joey is joined by Charlie of the CHAS YouTube variety once again!
In the second part of this coalossal [sic] two-parter, we’re doing a simple thing: Talking about every single new Pokemon, new forme, and all the gigantamax mons.
We try to make a few guesses about competitive viability, how design can affect playstyle, and we throw out many personal opinions. Note: Joey doesn’t actually hate everything; he just likes to market his bedazzlement as rage sometimes.

  • Pokemon Sword and Shield Pre-Release Discussion Part 1: Leaks, Leeks, and Leak Culture
(While they aren't as explicit in part 1 as in part 2, please be forewarned we are discussing LEAKS AND SPOILERS. For the best listener experience, we recommend being at least somewhat familiar with what has been found in the game thus far.)
Joey is joined by Charlie of the CHAS YouTube variety once again!
Today we're doing two things: 1.) Furthering our discussion on leaks and leak culture, and 2.)Going through the entire line-up of new Pokemon and analyzing and discussing them, mon-by-mon! Lots of varying opinions and expectations here, so here goes!
This is a massive episode; in the interest of brevity we have separated the two major discussions into two distinct episodes. Here's to hoping you stick around for both, but we appreciate any ear for our rants!

  • “Gotta Catch Most of ‘Em!”: Pre-Release Critique of Pokemon Sword and Shield
“Gotta Catch Most of ‘Em!”: Pre-Release Critique of Pokemon Sword and Shield
(We somehow avoided spoilers in this episode; there’s some profanity, but it is spoiler-free!)
Today Joey is joined by Charlie, a YouTuber, streamer, Smash player, and all-around Pokelover, to talk about Sword and Shield! The game comes out in a few weeks, so we decided to get together to share oru mutual love for the series and also hash out some controversy, criticisms, and hopes that orbit these titles.
We shifted to a more conversational approach for this episode, so we took some time to talk about our personal histories with Pokemon and what we want for the future of the series—and beyond!
Lots of Dexit talk, so be warned! But we pride ourselves on having the most civil Dexit chat yet!

  • Single-Player – Episode #2: Moon Knight: A Beginner's Primer and Series Ranking
Normally this is a Mega Man podcast, but as promised, this is an episode devoted to a general, non-exhaustive exploration of Moon Knight! I just got back into reading comics after many years, and my first foray back into the world of Marvel was a complete journey into the stories of the Crescent Crusader—which I just finished reading through a few days ago.
The first part of the episode [3:20 - 20:18] handles the much-asked question of “just where do I start with Moon Knight?” I provide a few recommendations for beginners and outline which trade paperbacks or digital sources are best for the Moon Knight journey.
Rankings, too [20:18]! For the more weathered fans—and even for the new ones who may be curious—I also decided to rank my favorite Moon Knight runs (which I’ve also typed out here if you want episode spoilers, which I’ve accompanied with some fairly brief sentiments about each volume.
I plan to do individual, more in-depth episodes about each of these aforementioned runs, so please stay tuned!

  • Two-Player Episode #1: Censorship Drama in FFVIII Remastered
Joey and Kelly team up to briefly touch upon a subject that's been setting the forums ablaze: The "censorship" surrounding Siren and Rinoa's updated designs.
Are bathing suits just artificial pubic hair? Is Shiva naked on purpose? Are these just design choices or is there an agenda? Find out the answers to these questions and more as we inevitably get more downvotes on this episode than anything else in our history!

About Jump & Shoot: A Gaming Podcast

From the publisher's feed

Originally envisioned as a Mega Man-branded conversational platform, Jump & Shoot is now a gaming podcast with a focus on JRPGs, action-platformers, games of the 16-bit era, and any other passing topic that piques the interest of host Joey Agliata.
