Jamie Robertson is a visual artist and educator from Houston, TX. She and Marcelese Cooper host the podcast, Where I See Me. Where I See Me looks at comics and media with lots of questions in mind, mainly where the hell are all the black/brown people?

A film analysis of Eve’s Bayou (1997). Written and directed by Kasi Lemmons. It is also her director debut. 

It’s the summer of 1962 in Louisiana. Ten-year-old Eve Batiste (Jurnee Smollett) discovers that her family's affluent existence is merely a facade. The philandering of her suave doctor father, Louis (Samuel L. Jackson), creates a rift, throwing Eve's mother, Roz (Lynn Whitfield), and teenage sister, Cisely (Meagan Good), into emotional turmoil. Eve, though, manages to find some solace with her psychic aunt, Mozelle (Debbi Morgan).

Today's episode is an analysis of the 2018 film Rust Creek. Rust Creek is an American crime thriller film directed by Jen McGowan and written by Julie Lipson. It is based on an original story by Julie Lipson and Stu Pollard. Hermione Corfield as Sawyer stars as a college student who becomes lost while on a road trip and is hunted by criminals who believe her to be a witness to their crime. The film also stars Jay Paulson as  Lowell, Sean O'Bryan as Sheriff O'Doyle, Micah Hauptman as Hollister, and Daniel R. Hill as Buck. As of this recording, it is available to stream on Netflix.
