Just a Nudge

This episode features the one and only Nick Vojnovic, the President of Little Greek Fresh Grill. I am super stoked about this edition of our program. During the interview, we will take a stroll through Nick’s career – from his college days at Cornell, through some of his initial jobs out of school to where he really made his mark in the food industry, at Beef O’Bradys.

We will then speak to his winding up at Little Greek Fresh Grill but not before getting his MBA at the University of South Florida. We will also speak to an incredible challenge that Nick faced in his life – how we took it on and how he continues to win!

This week’s Guest comes to us through a referral from another potential "Just a Nudge" Guest. We welcome Todd Justman to this episode. Todd is the Operating Manager & Owner of 1-800 WATER DAMAGE, a franchise based in Rochester Hills, Michigan which is a suburb of Detroit. Before that Todd spent several years in the Financial Services sector and he also considers himself to be a "Process Sherpa". Yep, you can bet I ask him about that moniker.

This week’s Guest is an individual that I am VE RY familiar with as he is my brother Gary Fry. Gary is the ServiceNow Senior Software Engineer at Unum and he is based out of Columbia, South Carolina. He’ll give you much more info on that position and how he got there which is very interesting given the fact that he was a kid who struggled mightily with math in high school. Lessons to be learned…that is for sure.

Gary also has a very spiritual bent on life as you will also hear. During the program, Gary will offer up a few gems to perhaps give a few of you Just A Nudge if you are struggling in your current position and organization.

Tim is a Chef who rose through the ranks of a restaurant chain in South Florida to become their Director of Operations. He also experienced a setback in his career that would have taken a LOT of people off course for quite some time, however Tim rose from the ashes to become an entrepreneur who’s business is experience a meteoric trajectory.

This episode features Paul Warren who is Director of Operations for IB Corporation, a franchisee of Checkers Drive-In Restaurants and Rally's Hamburgers. He currently oversees the operations for over 20 restaurants in Michigan and Florida.

I first met Paul in 2003 when he was hired as a Franchise Operations Director for Checkers overseeing 250 Checkers and Rally's with 4 Franchise Business Consultants (FBCs) reporting to him. He then moved into the role of Senior Director of Franchise Operations overseeing 500+ franchise locations with 8 FBCs.

He left Checkers in 2016 to become the Chief Operating Officer for Halo Burger, a legacy burger concept based in Michigan. Last year, Paul returned to Checkers and Rally's in his current role with one of the very first ever Rally's franchisees, Alan and Tracy Balen.

Paul is a great operator who has always had people and training in total focus. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I did speaking to him...
