This weeks guest is Timothy Van Riper, Contributing Writer for ModernThirst.com. Timothy lived in Southern California most of his life and although he drank bourbon for good amount of those years, it wasn’t until he moved to Louisville that he really jumped into bourbon head first.

This week, Kentucky State Senator Phillip Wheeler joins the show. Senator Wheeler, a member of the Republican Party is the State Senator for Kentucky’s 31st District. This year, he is up for re-election and is on the ballot for the Republican Primary which is to be held on June 23rd. Senator Wheeler was born Pikeville, Kentucky and a graduate of Transylvania University and the University of Kentucky, respectively.

Charles Booker (born 1984) is an American politician from the commonwealth of Kentucky. He serves in the Kentucky House of Representatives for the 43rd district, and is currently Kentucky's youngest black state lawmaker.[1] Booker is a member of the Democratic Party, and is running for the Democratic nomination for Mitch McConnell's Kentucky Senate Seat in the 2020 election.

The Just Add Bourbon- Facebook Live series, The Other Side of the Glass welcomed, Chris Tomlin, the Co-Author of the new book, ‘Mitch Please!: How Mitch McConnell Sold Out Kentucky (and America, Too)”. Tomlin wrote this book alongside his college friend, Matt Jones. Jones, after being approached by the national Democratic Party to consider a run against the soon to be Senator of 36 years, they began this journey in September, 2019 to visit all 120 counties of Kentucky. In their visits to these counties, not only did they learn their stories, but they made friendships and developed connections. This is what makes the great state of Kentucky what it is. Although the book was only published recently, it has already on the New York Times bestseller list, as it debuted at number 11 soon after. It has also appeared on other best-seller lists such as The Wall Street Journal and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists. Hope You Guys Enjoy!
