"Just be yourself! Everyone else is already taken." Oh yeah, try and do it since it's apparently so easy for you to say, Mary. Calling people out can be the most exhausting part of activism, especially when it comes to your friends and family members. In this episode, we want to talk about calling out in relation to men and feminism. We aren't born feminists, we become feminists. Education, which is different from schooling, plays an important part when it comes to one's view on society. Why are so few people in Vietnam and men in particular, feminists? Why are the vast majority of people still so uninformed and uneducated on women's oppression? From a very young age, girls are taught to be precautious around men. This, is later confirmed by the toxic male culture seen among teenage boys and the multiple experiences of harassment. In this episode, we explore women's feeling of unsafety and what men have to do with this. Please keep in mind that English isn't our first language so a lot of the things we said in this episode could have been better phrased and articulated. That said, we welcome comments, conversations, and criticisms, as long as it's done in a respectful manner.   Feeling unsafe is such a universal experience among all women that it almost seems to be a part of the female condition now, even though it's not.
