I also share some thoughts from a book I’ve been reading: The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer. It’s been a timely reminder that hurry is one of the greatest threats to a deep, abiding relationship with God. The book invites us to consider the way of Jesus—not just His teachings, but His pace. It’s helped me see how busyness can distract us from intimacy, and why slowing down is an act of obedience and trust.

A great reminder not just for athletes but for all; set your eyes on things above, not the ones that you can’t take with you when you go, these things of the earth will all pass and decay. The Lord has so much in store for you in Heaven, seek first His Kingdom!

This week, I had the absolute honor of sitting down with one of my best friends Parker Byrd — someone whose story is a powerful testament to resilience, faith, and the strength that comes from leaning into God during life’s hardest moments. This dude inspires me and so many others every single day and I am blessed to just have a guy like this in my life!

Parker shares his journey — one filled with unexpected challenges to finding purpose in the pain. We talk about the role his faith has played every step of the way, the importance of family, and how he continues to be a source of inspiration to so many people around the country.

We actually got put into contact through my agent that is trained by Dan twice a week. Dan’s story is one that could only be written by God, and he would be the first one to tell you that. His authenticity and outright love for the Lord is contagious and motivating!

Throughout this episode he shares his testimony as well testimonies of others that make it very hard for me to believe that things just occur by happenstance. Even how his business got started isn’t a coincidence in my eyes, it was all intricately woven by God. I believe that a listener out there will hear one of the stories he shares and have that same revelation. Often times we can’t see the work that the Lord is doing in our lives behind the scenes, but that does not mean that he isn’t working! Continuing to be steadfast in prayer and faith, His will be done!

Dan’s verse of the week was Isaiah 40:31 which says “but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

‭‭I have always liked that verse when facing a physical battle in my life, I can certainly see why a personal trainer would use this verse!
