It is Saturday night so welcome to "That Don't Sound Right," the podcast where tonight we explore things that don't sound right in outdoor adventures. In this episode, hosts Peter and Cecil recount their experiences of getting lost while leading youth hikes in two different areas: Linville Gorge and the Black Mountain Range.
First up, Peter shares his story of leading a group of teenagers on a hike in Linville Gorge. Peter led a group into the unmarked gorge to find a little used trail. They ended up hiking for hours before finally finding their way back to the trailhead.
Next, Cecil recounts his experience of leading a group of youth on a hike in the Black Mountain Range. What should have been a short cross country hike became an hours long scramble through a mountain laurel maze.
Throughout the episode, Peter and Cecil discuss the lessons they learned from their experiences, including the importance of always bringing a map and compass, paying attention to trail markers, and being prepared for unexpected situations.
Join us as we laugh, learn, and commiserate with Peter and Cecil on their misadventures in the great outdoors. Tune in to "That Don't Sound Right" on your favorite podcast platform. #Linvillegorge #uppercreek #lost #TDSR
