Eric was shot 23 years ago at a house party and to celebrate life, he decided to record 23 interviews before the end of 2020, this being 1 of them. His story is very interesting & inspiring.
Eric talks to us about his life as a quadriplegic including clubbing with friends, life at home, daily activities, being an entrepreneur, accessibility, etc.
The most inspiring thing about Eric is that he didn't let this life-altering event ruin his life. He worked hard and continued to make music, to have his own business, to make the most out of life, and to inspire others to do the same.

December 23, 2020 Marion Chaygneaud-Dupuy: cleaning Mount Everest
Marion was born in France, but in a sense, her heart & soul belongs to Tibet.
At 16 years old she went to India. This trip totally changed her life & she decided to go back a couple of years later to join a Buddhist monastery where she spent 4 years studying meditation.
After this life-changing experience, she became a guide in the Himalayas and even became the first European woman to successfully climb Mount Everest 3 times! There she decided to make an impact and she started the Clean Everest project in order to clean the mountain. Tons of rubbish have been removed from the mountain thanks to this initiative that she now tries to duplicate on other mountains.
This year she released a book in French called "Respire, tu es vivante" (literally "Breath, you are alive") where she shares in detail her journey. The book will be translated into English in 2021.
Marion's connection to nature and her willingness to help others in astonishing and incredibly inspiring!

December 16, 2020 Joanne Lee: creating community & bringing people together
Joanne, aka Jojo, is one of our very first friends in Miami. She was born in Malaysia but moved to NYC when she was young when her mom decided to start a new life in the US.
Jojo is a self-proclaimed "people-person" who loves to be surrounded by friends and like-minded people. She shares with us how she ended up co-leading Daybreaker in Miami & her vision to create her very own music festival in the near future.
She also shares with us how during the pandemic she found herself putting together a coaching program to help people get organized in their lives.
Without Jojo, our adventure in Miami wouldn't have been the same as she introduced us to Daybreaker and lots of our friends here. We truly hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did!

December 09, 2020 Diane Snarr: overcoming child abuse, suicide & infant loss
Diane's life has been a rollercoaster! She was sexually assaulted as a child from diapers to 10 years old. Then her father died and her life spiraled out of control. She began self-harming and ended up pregnant at 13 who she gave up for adoption.
She then found her husband and decided to start a family. They experienced 2 miscarriages and a full-term stillborn, before eventually birthing 4 healthy children.
Diane has experienced more pain & trauma than most people in their lives. But all those things made her who she is today.

December 02, 2020 Elmer Hickman: from homelessness to school principal to personal trainer
Elmer is currently in his 40s, but it feels like he has already lived many lives.
Elmer grew up in Southern Illinois. He talks to us about his difficult childhood, being homeless, moving school many times, being an angry kid, fighting a lot, etc.
Years later, he decided to become a teacher then a principal to help children in difficult neighborhoods like himself so that children didn't have to experience what he went through. Eventually, after having health issues, he totally changed his career and became a personal trainer... which led him to move to Miami.
Elmer also shares with us some of his experiences about living as a tall & built black man in the US.

Cindy is a badass superwoman! Born in South Africa with Congolese origins, she moved to Miami when she was 19 years old.
Cindy is, amongst other things, a model, career coach, women empowerment advocate and speaker. She recently took a leap of faith and quit her job to start her own career coaching business. She shares with us the ups & downs of this new journey.
From a really young age in South Africa, she saw the inequality women had to face, and she decided to commit her time to empower women. In Miami, she ended up leading the UN Women organization at her university!

November 18, 2020 Casey Lartigue Jr: Teach North Korean Refugees
Casey is the co-founder of Teach North Korean Refugees, a non-profit organization based in Seoul, South Korea. They help North Koreans who escape the country (which is illegal) to learn English and other skills so they can start a new life.
Prior to going to South Korea, Casey graduated from Harvard, went traveling around Asia, then came back to Washington DC where he got involved in Education Freedom. Thanks to his work (and many others obviously), lots of children in low-income families - mainly black children - got access to a good education.
Listen to this fantastic & inspiring story to learn about one of the most secretive countries in the world. Casey is proof that if you want to make a difference, all you have to do is take action!

November 11, 2020 Nikki Bigger: the adventures of van life
Nikki just moved to an apartment. Nothing exciting about that I know. What's interesting is that before then, she was living in a van!
More and more people are getting into van life. It sounds like a dream (We - Rosie & Jeremie - have thought about it for quite some time, to be honest). After dropping out of college (twice), Nikki decided to go traveling. It was in New Zealand where she fell in love with this #vanlife lifestyle... so much so, that she spent the next 2 years living there in a van!
After moving back to Canada, where Nikki is originally from, she decided to build her own van (with some help from her family) in less than a month!
Nikki shares her good & bad experiences with us because even though it's a dreamy lifestyle, it comes with some drawbacks as well!
