On this week’s episode, I am interviewing another life coach, Paul Engebretson who coaches individuals with ADHD. Isn’t that such a fabulous niche first of all? But what I was most impressed with, was Paula’s thoughts on her own journey through ADHD and how she has managed to work with her brain rather than against her brain. I think that this advice is true for everyone – we are all wired a little bit different and fighting against the way we work or blaming our brains for why we aren’t getting the results from life we want is only going to keep us down. But learning to work with our brains and put in places structures and supports that will empower us, will only propel us closer to our goals.

One of the biggest obstacles to overcome when you are starting anything new is procrastination. I love what our guest speaker, Ros Croad, says about procrastination – that we usually just do it because we have put a lot of pressure on ourselves that we should know how to do something that we don’t know how to do yet. Rather than spending our time procrastinating and worrying that we aren’t good enough or smart enough, we should spend our time just doing it and figuring it out. What amazing advice! I loved hearing Ros’s story about the things she learned from just doing in her first business and how it led her to starting her coaching career.

So, you’ve gotten some training, and started telling everyone you are a life coach – now all the clients are going to come pouring in, right? Alas, not so much. In today’s episode, we are talking with Amber Taylor about her business and what stuck out to me in this interview were her thoughts about expectations. Expectations can be a pesky thing and that is definitely true when it comes to starting a business. All too often, people start their business and immediately think the hard part is done and the next step is to just coach the 1000s of people lining up at their door, waiting to be transformed. When we have those expectations, it can really be a buzzkill on our momentum so it’s good to keep those expectations in check! Amber has some great thoughts on how her business today doesn’t look like how she thought it would but how she has loved every step of the journey. It’s a good one!
Today I am talking with Caroline Holke, a life coach who helps people drink less. I love her attitude about her business and how she is so on to those sneaky thoughts that are bound to come up but aren’t always super helpful. As a heads up, my mic had a little bit of a freakout for a few minutes in the middle but I loved what Caroline had to say so I didn’t want to cut it out. So I apologize in advance for my robotic voice and know that it is only for a couple minutes and all the good stuff (aka Caroline’s thoughts) are crystal clear! With that, enjoy the interview!

One thing I don’t think many people realize is that starting a business is actually a terrifying thing! In today’s episode, we are talking with Kelly Keelan, a weight loss coach for women over 40. What I loved about this conversation with Kelly, is how she says when the negative emotions come up, we need to just keep taking action anyway. This is so important because running a business brings up ALL the emotions! I also love Kelly’s thoughts on what skills you develop when you work through those negative emotions and how we grow as individuals as our business grows. She has some amazing thoughts so enough about me, let’s hear from Kelly!

Silky is a life and weight loss coach who helps people lose weight permanently through fasting and mediation. She tells us about her journey over the last couple of years running her business and how it was such a struggle, until it wasn’t. I think her story is such an amazing example of the stark difference between relying on the “experts” and really sitting deep within ourselves and asking ourselves what we think is best. She is totally the sweetest and I loved hearing her story!

In today’s episode, we are going to be talking to another life coach, Christina Kwan. She is another one of my favorite coaches and what was so fascinating about this interview with her was her whole journey , both personally and as a business. Her story really is a great example of how we never really feel ready when we are trying new things but we just have to push through the pukey feelings and do them anyway. Christina is also an amazing example of leaning into opportunities with her business and following where it takes her.
