September 27, 2021 Is it any wonder? (Everything's Alright)
Sitting on my back patio the other evening with a lot on my mind; I was recalling how any one of us might at times have a tendancy to drone on to others about what's not going right for us personal or professionally or both. The idea being to look outside ourselves to get feedback that we might use as a solution or salve, which would help us move forward or through whatever it is. Truth is, that is not the answer to what troubles our mind or spirit. For me? The answer to any question is always ultimately within me. Within each of us. And only there can the right or best possible answer be found. Seems simple enought right?
Now I'm not immune to life's challenges and for that matter who is? I'm just wanting to regularly remind myself that I am only responsible for my 'response' to any situation I find myself in or in front of. And for making any change within me if it seems one even might be called for. I believe it's the same for everyone. So here's to you dear listener. Hoping you find your answer to whatever question is in front of you right now. Is it any wonder many will wander about looking for answers to life's questions outside themselves their entire life until the day they actually look right where they are? Everything's Alright because what you want to know is within you and me.

Given the pandemic flying environment these days - it was not surprising to run across an article concerning flight attendants and their potential exposure to a high-flying virus. The airline management had a unique offering for their flight attendants to consider that would supposedly improve their chances of not entering into a relationship with the high-flying virus. So, how bout this. Would your desire to travel in today's environment be elevated if you had the potential to essentially hermetically seal yourself during the trip? eddyEd

September 13, 2021 Go Back or Go Forth?
How bout this. You have before you multiple door or portal options for time travel. First off, do you even take the opportunity to step back or forward in time? And if you do, which direction do you go and how far? You have to stay for a specific period of time and you can return to your original time, but if you are not back at the portal 'on time' you stay where you are forever! There are so many considerations it can be a little unsettling to dive deep into them. So next time you are with a friend(s) having drinks and/or a meal, consider meandering through a conversation about this hypothetical. And see if you don't possibly scare the time-travel pants off yourself when you consider everything that might or could go wrong. And there are many. Go Back. Go Forth. How bout this. You awaken with what feels like the worst hangover you have ever felt. You're mostly nude in what appears to be desert conditions. You have no wallet. No phone. And what woke you up was the sun. Cuz it's hot. Damn hot. What do you do? Chew on that idea a bit with someone sometime and you will find both interesting and frightening considerations come up before you. Not unlike the horizon that is in front of you. Start walking.

September 07, 2021 Just Roll Tape 38 (Medicated Goo)
So, not long ago I was feelin a little anxious about things. A lot of things. And I thought to myself....maybe I should sit quietly with my hands folded and meditate or self-medicate with one or more substances. Or, dial-up my dear friend Gino in Brooklyn, New York for a little perspective. Thank the phone Jesus he was there right when I needed him. And boy did he bring it. Thank my lucky stars for that decision to call because Gino never disappoints in getting me back to a place of calm crazy vs crazy crazy if you know what I mean. Calm crazy is always preferable. Anyway, along the way, Gino essentially told me yet again "So follow me, it's good for you. That good ole fashion medicated goo. Ooh - ooh ain't it good for you. My own recipe will see you through." September 03, 2021 Just Roll Tape 37 (Blackbird Song)
Amidst the very unusual times, we are now living in - the phone, FaceTime, Facebook Messenger Portal, Zoom, Google Nest Hub, Google Duo, Skype, and Amazon Echo have all become important tools for helping us get beyond the world's increasing isolation and staying in touch with relationships that we care about. And every now and then just when I need a pick-me-up conversation to get me out of some level of life funk; I dial up Gino in Brooklyn, New York. He never fails to boil it all down for me so I can laugh and maybe even melt my isolation blues away. Maybe you have a dear friend you can call at those times too. I hope so. For me, that and immersing myself in the sounds of nature are the true calming currencies of life. So, call a friend. While I can't promise a conversation with a friend will soothe every situation; I can assure you that being in or near nature will make you feel better. Just listen to a blackbird song sometime.

August 30, 2021 Just Roll Tape 36 (It's A Family Affair)
Whether you have or have ever had a family with kids you have at least probably heard or read about the many diverse stories that come out of that paradigm. Most often a little crazy, for the most part good, definitely at times a whole lot of fun, or even just plain cute, but sometimes those stories can be a little otherworldly. The legendary businessman, Joey K is no exception to having experienced all of it with his two now-grown daughters. They are beautiful, intelligent, and most importantly powerful individuals who have been raised to be who they are regardless of the conditions they may find themselves in. And boy do they. One day while catching up with Joey K smack dab in the very early stages of the once-in-a-lifetime pandemic; we found out both of his daughters had just returned home to spend the national pandemic lockdown with their parents. And while both young adult daughters were living in Dallas and L.A. respectively they chose to return to the nest and with it the awesome relationship dynamics that seem to always be there no matter the circumstances. To speak hypothetically means to base a statement on a hypothesis or a proposed situation, sometimes for the sake of reasoning some humorous responses to a hypothetical from another person. Sometimes maybe even while they are in an altered state? In simpler terms, it's like saying 'what if' and creating a scenario to support an idea that just might illicit fun or funny dialogue between two or more people. Now, I have to say that whenever I happen to be alongside the legendary businessman, Joey K, it is always a consideration for me to bring along some hypotheticals for him to digest. Fortunately, Joey digests things quickly and thoroughly with absolutely nothing going to waste. This usually makes for delightfully tasty conversation. Yum.
