First, let us just say we're sorry. We're ashamed of ourselves for covering this topic. We've come close before, but this one might literally be THE WORST. Episode 23 is about a man named Mr. Hands, his tragic and extremely perverse death, and some other stuff. Listeners beware. And, as always, enjoy!
Well this one is a real bummer. Such a bummer that we didn't even really want to talk about it! Along with the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, the execution of Daniel Pearl marked the end of the United State's innocence. At least according to us. We try to lighten it up with patter about current events, but turns out that's sort of a bummer too. Enjoy!

Turns out that back in the day there were some men who would do anything to have angelic singing voices - even get castrated. So what that they had to make that decision by the age of seven or eight. Seems worth it. Right?
This episode addresses the age-old question: which is worse, purity balls or sororities? In either case you are going to be faced with some pretty weird rituals and traditions, but in only one are you likely to be asked to make a promise you probably won't keep. We also talk mental breakdowns, new meds, whether Patti would be a nothing or not, and much more!
In the words of the great Winston Churchill, "We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight in the desert, we shall fight on the emu nesting grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving to the evil emu cause, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the Australian Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, all the bloody emus will die.”
Ridiculous or the worst? We couldn't decide.
Turns out our medical practices used to be more than a little backward - and dangerous. And not as long ago as you would expect! Plus we sing songs, discuss the inspiration for Valentina's name, and so much more!
What happens when a million people are stuck between two countries that don't want them? Nothing good. In this episode we discuss Buddhist rage, learning Krav Maga, and learning to take compliments.
Enjoying the outdoors can be great... until you run into a serial killer. Also, we get a glimpse into Valentina's reading list for 2018 and the joys of Goodreads. This is Episode 16 (turns out 15b is not allowed).
When the world's got you down and you think humanity is horrible, just take a look back at the way we used to treat each other. Then you realize we sorta, kinda, have made some progress. Or we just hide our depravity better.
Also, this week we are trying something new. We're breaking our topics into two episodes. Look for episode 15b on Wednesday!
