Is jealousy poison? Or information that shows you where you need to work on yourself? We explore jealousy—romantic jealousy, platonic jealousy, creative jealousy and what happens when we feel it (or don’t).

This episode of Just Warm Spaces is truly special as it is graced by Maya June’s presence & wisdom. Negine sits down to talk to her about freedom; whether it be financially, spiritually, or physically. Our beings are wrapped up gracefully around the tree barks of ones cycle - fluidly manifesting our childhood desires. Tune in to hear this tender conversation on the seasons of the body, healing our younger selves, and knowing our worth through the voices of our intuition.

In this episode, we reflect on the past year while bringing up some of our favorite things like: the book Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés, the hot girl walk, high vibrations, and the ability to love our bodies fiercely. The song "Dead To Me" by Kali Uchis is really about us killing the voices in our heads that have the audacity to think we're not good enough to live however we feel like living.

In this episode, Negine is joined in conversation with cultural anthropologist and creative director Hawa Arsala. They discuss evolution, gentleness, and shedding parts of oneself in feeding the journey towards oneness. Hawa’s musings on nurturing intergenerational connections while leaning on integrity is one that’ll stick with ya.

Happy Valentine’s Day. ❤️ This episode is all about love. What does healthy love look like? What can love and heartbreak teach us about ourselves and others? Throughout our lives, as our mothers’ daughters, we were taught by example the boundlessness of love. Whether you’re a caterpillar or butterfly, we all deserve healthy love in all stages of our lives.

To celebrate our tenth episode, we (virtually) sat down with the indomitable and iconic Mitra Jouhari. Comedian, writer, performer, ceramicist and organizer—she is the shining example of a talented woman who transcends labels and boxes. In the conversation, we discuss slowing down during the pandemic, the traps of productivity culture, ceramics as meditation, organizing PPP kits for the unhoused community, asking for what you want, and speaking your will into the universe. Thank you for joining us on this sonic journey so far.

Every day we wake up and do our silly little tasks while daydreaming about our silly little obsessions. Photography, plants, records, makeup, crushes…this episode is a shrine to shrines. The worlds we build in our heads and how they steep us into the present, fill us with life, and the sword’s other edge—reeling us out of our reality and sucking our attention up like vampiric social media fiends. Mentioned in the pod: Little Weirds by Jenny Slate, How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy by Jenny Odell, Luster by Raven Leilani.

Too dramatic, too needy, too loud, too...much. This episode is about relationships of all kinds, the expectations around them, and how at the end of the day, we’re okay with choosing ourselves.

We each recorded snippets from our day-to-days and merged them together for this conversation centered on celebration. Listening is an essential foundation to collective care. And when we listen to nature, we listen to each other.

For many young Afghan girls, leaving the house and striving for independence is not as simple as the western practice of turning 18 and doing whatever you want. In this episode, we ruminate and reflect on how it feels to carve out space for ourselves when the generational script for us guilts and shames us otherwise. Home is fluid and ever-changing but somehow feels permanent in the heart and soul.
Thank you Joshua Hill from The Hill in Mind for creating the lovely tunes played throughout the episode!
