Bethany Koby is the founder and CEO of Tech with Save Us. They create experiences for kids that are fun, educational and teach them to be creative with technology, not just consume it. She is also a mother of two and we talk about how her kids have helped her test products and inspired her to start the company in the first place.

Tech Will Save Us has partnered with lots of amazing brands including Disney and the BBC and we talk about the importance of these partnerships and what they have done for the business.

Bethany comes from a family of creators and entrepreneurs but she never thought she would start her own business. Join me in part one of this interview where we discuss her journey and gleam heaps of insights into life as a CEO who was once a graphic designer.

In part 2 of my conversation with Josh Dykgraaf we continue our discussion about his freelance work and some of his other passions.  Like how he now takes trips across the world just to take photos for his artwork or why he thinks it is important to diversify revenue streams as a freelancer.  

You should always be experimenting as an artist but as he advises, the best time is really when you are in school, if you even end up going. Josh recalls that some of the most successful people he knows either didn't go to school or left early. It is important to know who you are, to always work hard and be persistent, get out there and start creating!

Josh is an accomplished freelance designer/illustrator/artist who specialises in photographic manipulation. Originally trained as a photographer and graphic designer, his work focuses on exploring sense of place and visual identity by manipulating images he shoots into other forms, mixing textures from the built and natural landscapes.

He's been working as a full time freelance illustrator since 2012 and recently completed a couple solo art exhibitions in Melbourne Australia. We talk about the ups and downs of being a freelance creative and if it is worth all of the trouble. There are plenty of golden nuggets of wisdom in this discussion and don't forget to tune in for the next episode where there is some of his best tips.
