Justice Of The Peach

The Watts family murders occurred in Frederick, Colorado, United States, during the early morning hours of August 13, 2018. Christopher Lee Watts admitted to murdering his pregnant wife Shanann Cathryn Rzucek by strangulation after she killed her two daughters. Anyone who knew Shannann would know how false this statement was. Chris' story didn't hold together very long and he was soon confessing horrific details. His mistress says she had no part in it, but computer history may show otherwise.

John Wayne Bobbitt  and Lorena Bobbitt were an American couple married on June 18, 1989, their relationship received international press coverage in 1993 when Lorena cut off John's penis with a knife while he was asleep in bed. At the time marital rape was not recognized so Lorena had a fight on her hands. This woman went through one of the worst traumatic experiences and took her power back away from the monster she married. The question remains, who is the victim here? Lorena for the abuse she suffered and her desperate attempt to remove her pain, or John who lost the weapon he used against his wife repeatedly? Michelle Carter and Conrad Roy III struck up a summer romance when they were both on vacation in Florida. Come to find out the two teens only lived an hour away from each other and continued their relationship. Both teens struggled with their own mental health and eventually the relationship grew toxic. At what point do we say that one teenager is solely responsible for another ones life?

This weeks episode is a little more lighthearted than normal, since this is a story we all have heard at one point or another. The infamous Western outlaw known as “Billy the Kid” is mostly likely born in a poor Irish neighborhood on New York City’s East Side on November 23, 1859. Before he was shot dead at age 21, Billy reputedly killed at least nine people in the American West. Was he the bad guy, or killing for a cause?

Susan Monica was a farmer in her 60’s with her very own property where she raised chickens and pigs and worked on beautiful wrought iron fences. She had made it through much of her life flying under the radar. That was until one of the handymen on her farm, Robert Haney disappeared without a trace. The last anyone knew of his whereabouts was that he was living in a camper on Susan’s property. During the search for Robert, Susan told the police had something to confess- not only about Robert’s disappearance but another mans as well. She drew a map for the detectives with an “X” in the middle telling them, “That’s where you’re going to find Steve.”

Welcome back from our hiatus. This weeks story is a throwback from Lacy to an episode we didn’t keep up very long due to quality. Barney and Betty Hill were an American couple who claimed they were abducted by extraterrestrials in a rural portion of the state of New Hampshire from September 19 to 20, 1961. It was the first widely publicized report of an alien abduction in the United States. We have a lot of theories, what are yours?

This week Anika covers the story of Elisabeth Fritzl, a young girl in Austria who was imprisoned by her own father to keep for his own sexual gratification. The amount of time she was kept and tortured is enough to bring anyone to their knees, but she endured and survived more than anyone should be able to.

Kenneth McDuff was dubbed the broomstick murderer after one of his victims was strangled with a broom handle. This week Krystle tells us about the awful crimes he committed throughout his life. The system fails us yet again as this man was able to walk in and out of prison. Thankfully this particular case helped change laws to prevent this from happening in the future. Though those laws are still not what they should be.

This week We're All Screwed and Homicide Highway are meshing together to hear Lacy's story. I feel it's important for me to tell my story in the hopes that it makes someone out there facing a domestic violence situation will get the courage to save themselves. A large reason of why I started podcasting was to help victims who felt that they had nowhere else to turn. The system fails all of us daily, and we have to do better. If my story inspires you in any way I encourage you to pass it along and show that we are enough and that there is hope no matter how gruesome it looks.

Roy Norris and Lawrence Bittaker have been dubbed the most sadistic serial killers. While I'm not sure I completely agree with that statement they are horrific human beings. This week Lacy will take us through how they got their start in their criminal careers separately and also how the two came together.

"What is the difference between us, why do you want to kill and I don't?"
"Do you WANT to kill"
"No"
"Then that's the difference. Some people like broccoli, some don't."
Intro/Outro music written and preformed by Tommy Jacobs,
