  • Big Beau Brown: The 7-Foot-1 Content Creator Making Bail Bonds Go Viral

You have probably seen his videos. Now meet the guy holding the camera. Content creator Big Beau Brown joins Tug Cowart and Daniel Matalon, CEO of A 2nd Chance Bail Bonds and A 2nd Chance Monitoring, on this episode of Justice Unfiltered.

Beau grew up on Hollywood dub stages in a family of award-winning film editors, played Division I basketball, and then strapped a GoPro to his head to film what life looks like at 7-foot-1. He woke up to 50,000 YouTube subscribers. He talks about the years of daily posting that came next, why insecurity kept him going, and the “post and ghost” rule that lets him be a dad and a husband first.

He also explains how he ended up producing video for A 2nd Chance, why teaching people one new thing is the secret to a video that travels, and how ankle monitors turned into the internet’s favorite subject. Plus, what it is like to film with Dog the Bounty Hunter when your mom still cannot believe it, and a hint about something big coming to the A 2nd Chance YouTube channel.

  • Lantbo on Going Viral, Contempt of Court, and Why a Second Chance Is a Second Choice

Comedian, musician, and digital creator Phillip "Lantbo" Hudson joins Tug Cowart and Daniel Matalon, CEO of A 2nd Chance Bail Bonds and A 2nd Chance Monitoring, for one of the funniest episodes of Justice Unfiltered yet.
Lantbo looks back on "Ratchet Girl Anthem," the 2012 video he made with his brother Emmanuel Hudson that racked up tens of millions of views before "viral" was even a word. He explains where his comedy comes from, why he would rather expand the box than think outside of it, and how comedians end up being the ones who say the truth out loud.

Then he tells a story he is not proud of: the day an unpaid traffic ticket, a missed court date, and a few words he should have kept to himself got him held in contempt and put in handcuffs. What happened next is why he says every second chance comes with a second choice.

Plus, how Daniel sat across from him three times without realizing who he was, how a clean comedian approaches advertising for a bail bonds company, and why the two want to take on school lunch debt in metro Atlanta.

  • Real Bounty Hunters: Bail Recovery Agents Josh Hackman and Kevin Pettyjohn on Tracking Down Fugitives

In this episode of Justice Unfiltered, hosts Tug Cowart and Daniel Matalon of A 2nd Chance Bail Bonds sit down with licensed bail recovery agents Josh Hackman and Kevin Pettyjohn for a first for the show: an inside look at what happens when someone skips bail.

Josh, an Army veteran with combat deployments, has averaged around 300 arrests a year for more than 11 years.  Kevin has been at it for 28 years, starting with a first case on Lookout Mountain that sent him back to the same front door days later. The two explain why a bond can be revoked without a new crime, why calling yourself a "bounty hunter" is a misdemeanor in Florida while Tennessee requires agents to wear the words on their vest. Plus, how a doormat, a stain on the concrete, or the building behind you in a photo can give away your location.

They also share the story of the truck driver who swore they would never find his girlfriend, and the day they put Daniel in a van as a decoy courier for a 6'6" fugitive. Plus: what TV gets wrong (the arrest is about 5% of the job), and what it really takes to break into a field with fewer than a dozen full-time agents in Georgia.

  • Helen Willis on How Fulton County Really Works: Courts, the Jail, and Spotting Human Trafficking

What does a county commissioner do? More than most of us realize: courts, the jail, 911, libraries, elections.

On the new Justice Unfiltered, former City of South Fulton council member Helen Willis, now a candidate for Fulton County Commission, joins Tug Cowart and Daniel Matalon to explain how county government works and why she says the justice system is the biggest piece of the county budget.

She also shares how her years as a hospital candy striper shaped her, why she calls seniors "legacy residents," and the story behind the Human Sex Trafficking Ambassador Program she founded, which has trained more than 100 South Fulton residents to spot trafficking and get victims help.

If you suspect trafficking, call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888.

Willis is the Democratic nominee for Fulton County Commission District 5 and faces Republican Tiffany Henyard in the general election on November 3, 2026.

  • How Judges Set Bond in Georgia with Defense Attorney Lawrence Zimmerman

Atlanta criminal defense attorney Lawrence Zimmerman (LZ to his friends and to a few judges) returns to the show with 25 years of courtroom stories. He tells Tug Cowart and Daniel Matalon what judges are supposed to weigh when they set bond. He also explains when GPS monitoring can change the outcome, and why a bond amount should be something a family can reach.

Later in the episode, he covers why he took the I-85 bridge fire case for free, what TV gets wrong about defense lawyers, and why he thinks jury duty is one of the best ways to serve your country. He also shares the one rule he never breaks as a legal analyst for 11Alive and Court TV. Justice Unfiltered is presented by A 2nd Chance Bail Bonds and Monitoring.

  • Rep. Tanya Miller on Prosecuting Gangs, Protecting Seniors, and the Job of Attorney General
In this episode of Justice Unfiltered, presented by A 2nd Chance Bail Bonds, host Tug Cowart and Daniel Matalon sit down with Georgia State Representative Tanya Miller, chair of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus and a former federal and Fulton County prosecutor.

Miller breaks down what the Attorney General actually does, the state's chief legal officer, advising more than a hundred state agencies, protecting consumers, and prosecuting gang, human trafficking, and cybercrime cases that cross county lines. She traces her path from a working-class childhood in Cleveland to a federal clerkship, federal prosecution in New York, and an undefeated run as a homicide prosecutor in Fulton County.

The conversation gets into the scams targeting seniors, why fraud is not just an elderly problem, and her belief that the work of the people's lawyer should sit above politics.

Miller is the Democratic nominee in the 2026 Georgia Attorney General race and faces Republican Brian Strickland in the general election on November 3, 2026.

  • Charles Shaw on 20 Years in Bail Bonds and the Art of Underwriting Risk
In this episode of Justice Unfiltered, presented by A 2nd Chance Bail Bonds, host Tug Cowart and Daniel Matalon sit down with Charles Shaw, President of the Georgia Association of Professional Bondsmen and founder of AA Professional Bail Bonding and Foster Bail Bonds.

Daniel and Charles go back more than twenty years, to the days when Daniel worked for him. That history runs through the whole conversation. Charles traces his path from law enforcement, through patrol, investigations, fugitive work, and homicide, into the bail business, and what that background taught him about reading people and managing risk.

They get into the part of bonding most people never see. How agents underwrite a bond. Why collateral and co-signers matter. Why writing a bond correctly from the start is what keeps an agency standing for decades. Charles also explains what the Georgia Association of Professional Bondsmen does, why secured bail matters, and how the industry handles the pressure that comes with a hot-button business.

A rare, honest look inside the business of bail from two people who have lived it.

  • The Weight of a Second Chance: Joyette Holmes on Parole, Justice, and a Career of Firsts

Five people decide when someone comes home. Joyette Holmes is one of them.

In this episode of Justice Unfiltered, host Tug Cowart sits down with Joyette Holmes, Chair of the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles, for an honest conversation about second chances, the weight of parole decisions, and a career built on firsts. Daniel Matalon, CEO of A 2nd Chance Bail Bonds, was unable to join in studio for this one.

A Valdosta native appointed to the parole board by Governor Brian Kemp, Holmes has held nearly every seat in Georgia's justice system: public defender, prosecutor, chief magistrate judge, and Cobb County District Attorney, where she became the first Black woman and first woman to hold both roles. In September 2025, she became the second Black woman ever to chair the state parole board.

Tug and Joyette get into what the board actually does (everything happens after a conviction, there is no formula, and in Georgia parole is not a right), why real second chances take a whole community of employers, treatment providers, and partners like A 2nd Chance, and why something as small as a backpack can change a kid's path. Holmes also opens up about leading the early stages of the Ahmaud Arbery prosecution, why she had to remove public sentiment to get it right for the family, and a story of forgiveness that stuck with her.
It's a warm, honest, and genuinely joyful conversation about service, redemption, and the people behind the decisions.

Hosted by Tug Cowart and Daniel Matalon, CEO of A 2nd Chance Bail Bonds and A 2nd Chance Monitoring.

  • Breaking the Code of Silence: Dr. Kareem Puranda on Trauma, Cops, and Second Chances
He wore a badge for eight years. Then a jail cell changed everything.
In this episode of Justice Unfiltered, host Tug Cowart and Daniel Matalon of A 2nd Chance Bail Bonds sit down with Dr. Kareem Puranda, a former police officer turned licensed clinical mental health counselor, author of Breaking the Code of Silence, and founder of the nonprofit Achieving Success on Purpose.

Puranda grew up in the Bronx, played championship college football, and spent eight years on patrol in Salisbury, North Carolina, before an indictment over a use-of-force incident landed him in a holding cell. That moment redirected his entire life. He opened Self-Talk Counseling and Consulting in 2017 and now works with people on both sides of the law.

In this conversation, Puranda unpacks the unwritten "code of silence" that keeps officers from admitting they are struggling, the doctoral research where all twelve officers he interviewed named the same barrier (their own leadership), and why he believes police officers and people who get arrested often share the same root: survival mode and unhealed trauma. He also offers practical, no-nonsense advice for first responders who want help but fear the fallout.

The episode closes where the show always does, on second chances. Puranda explains "borrowed belief," the work he does with at-risk youth, and why one person showing up at the right moment can break a cycle. Honest, raw, and full of hope.

Hosted by Tug Cowart and Daniel Matalon, CEO of A 2nd Chance Bail Bonds and A 2nd Chance Monitoring.
