Justice's First Dawn: A Classic Justice League of America Podcast

Suppose you weren't able to make the group meeting at work.  What might be your excuse?  You were busy being assaulted by cube aliens that have a toe-related weakness?  Hmm... How about a battle with your mentally controlled coworker?  No?  Trying to save a family from a gigantic "Old Yeller" moment?  Sigh... How about at least one panel travelling back in time to save the life of Benjamin Franklin?  Snapper Carr tells us what the OTHER JLA members were up to who weren't part of issue 50's battle against the Lord of Time in JLA 17: "Missing in Action -- 5 Justice Leaguers"!  Plus a reminder of the show schedule for the next 2 weeks... hint, I'll be away so there WILL be nothing... and your feedback!  Now, pretend this hiatus is MY absence from the JLA, and you want to get in touch with me!  By all means, I recommend you do so via the show's email account at [email protected], or dropping me a comment on the podcast page.  Many thanks!

Were you dying to read an issue of the Justice League of America where the team, itself, BARELY appears as themselves?!?  Or an issue where an alien life-form decides to clone the JLA, to play its own version of "Second Life" on another world?  Or how about an issue that has boatloads of foot notes for other Adam Strange stories that are probably more engaging than this?  If you've composed yourself, you're ready to tackle the "Triumph of the Tornado Tyrant", which is KIND-OF an origin for Red Tornado!  All this, plus updates on the show, and your listener feedback!  And speaking of feedback, it would be much appreciated to find some coming my way!  You can either leave me an email at [email protected], or drop me a comment on the podcast page.  Thanks, as always!

You have 2 hours of listening material to go through, so I'll keep these episode notes short!  In honor of the recent passing of comic creator extrodinaire Len Wein, I fast-forward coverage to talk about JLA issues 100-102.  The Justice League of America!  The Justice Society of America!  The Seven Soldiers of Victory!  If this isn't an fitting tribute to a brilliant man in the industry, I don't know what is!  And if you have some thoughts, feel free to share them via the show's email account, [email protected] !  Or you can leave a comment on the episode posting!  Thanks so much for listening!

Defenders of the Faith, I have returned!  Through many real-life explanations I've provided in the episode, I've emerged for another solid month of podcasting.  And how do I mark my return?  ... By having that schmuck Headmaster Mind return to menace the JLA with his School of Criminology students, the Tattooed Man, the Top, and Matter Master, in Justice League of America 28.  The JLA protests the United Nations!  Stupid power-sapping batteries cause our heroes' powers to go haywire!  I even manage to note a DISTINCT absence of involvement by Snapper Carr in the issue!  All this, plus your feedback!  So, please make a brother feel welcome back on the scene once again, by leaving me some feedback via email at [email protected] or leaving me a comment on the podcast page, classicjla.podbean.com.  Thanks for your time and patience!

Green Arrow: potential murderer?  Wonder Woman: quitting the Justice League of America, and wearing a VASTLY revealing dress?  "Cabezo Maestro": the potentially worst villain the JLA has encountered?  All this, and more, await you for coverage in JLA 69, "A Matter of Menace"!  Plus your feedback, and my long and rambling thoughts on the recently released SDCC trailer for "Justice League"!  So master your head, and by all means feel free to leave me some feedback at [email protected], or you can leave a comment on the episode posting!  Thanks as always!

Thank goodness Despero, and even the Lord of Time, get shoutouts due to editor's notes!  Otherwise, aside from alien transformed Justice League members, and a gigantic glob of slime called the Endless One, JLA 33 would have as much hearty flavor as a church wafer!  But you do get comments about weird costume color changes, see Batman potentially be killed... or at least suffer an injury that would gravely disappoint Talia, and you have a guest appearance by a letter writer that MIGHT be a prominant comic industry figure!  All this, plus a potential future plan for the show, and your feedback/social media activities!  And should you wish to not fall victim to Alien-Ation, then please leave some feedback towards [email protected], or leave a comment on the podcast post!  As always, many thanks!

Denny O'Neil and Dick Dillin show up for another episode of JFD, and they're bringing Jack Ryder, AKA The Creeper, with them for my coverage of JLA 70, "Versus the Creeper"!  ... Only that title proves to be a tiny bit of a lie.  But we still get the JLA tackling alien forces!  Oh yeah... and we also have to read about Mind-Grabber Kid, a character that makes Snapper Carr almost Batman-like in terms of appeal!  All this, plus FINALLY my thoughts on "Wonder Woman", and more!  So if you're feeling lively, use those mind grabbing powers to send some feedback to [email protected], or just leave me a comment on the podcast page!  Thanks as always!

As a special holiday weekend treat, I decided to throw in another cartoon commentary!  This time, I cover an episode from "The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardian" show, entitled "The Wild Cards"!  Who are our shadowy vilains that appear in the episode?  Which member of the Royal Flush Gang do I have a crush on?  Does Batman make a precident for being sneaky on Apokalypse for this episode?  Listen, play along, and find out!  And as always, please feel free to leave some feedback my way at [email protected], or drop me a comment on the podcast page!  Thanks, and Happy Canada Day/Fourth of July to all!

In this episode, covering JLA 15, "Challenge of the Untouchable Aliens", I offer YOU up a few challenges!  Such as...  Can you take Snapper Carr's INSANELY terrible dialogue in this issue?  Will you buy Batman's REAL loose definitions of what his "Judo" abilities entail?  Is coming from an alternate Earth equal to being an actual "alien"?  All this, plus randomness and your feedback!  And speaking for hunting for feedback, you can send feedback... if you even exist one minute separate from me... at [email protected], or leave me a comment on the podcast page!  Thanks, as always, for your time, and hope you enjoy!

Felix Faust is back... TWICE... in JLA 49!  Thrill to astonishing action sequences!  Chill to Hal Jordan making rather... interesting threats to feminine fairy folk!  Get ill at the resolution involving a character I'm getting tired of seeing pull the JLA out of fires!  All this, and more!  But I'm never tired of hearing from you, so go ahead and drop me some feedback at [email protected]!  Thanks a bundle!
