This is my original song "Devil’s Hollow" — written especially for my Slide Guitar Essentials lesson series at https://JustinJohnsonGuitar.com. • Backporch Blues Guitar the EASY WAY! 🎸 Fingerpicking Lesson #learnguitar #guitartutorial

Here’s one of my favorite techniques for turning a basic lead riff into a full solo blues arrangement: add a steady, palm-muted bass line with your thumb.

It gives your playing depth, groove, and that raw backporch feel—like you’ve got a whole rhythm section under your fingers.

This approach is a core part of Backporch Blues Bootcamp—a brand new 10-day lesson series at https://www.JustinJohnsonGuitar.com or on the “Justin Johnson Guitar” app for iOS and Android.

Whether you’re on acoustic, resonator, or electric, these lessons are all about building soulful, unaccompanied blues you can perform anywhere, anytime.

If you’re ready to grow your blues vocabulary and sound like a one-man band, this series is for you.
