It's been a rough week. Cory explains his frustration with DRC's technical support when he had an issue with their testing platform this week. Josh talks about a vulnerability scanning and pen testing service offered to K12 Public School Districts for free via MS-ISAC and CISA. Then the guys interview Donatello as he tells the story of his ransomware attack during the 2019 school year. We learn a few interesting facts including that Donatello likes pineapple on his pizza.

In this episode we interview another ransomware victim, "Gene." There aren't a lot of words to describe the story we hear from Gene besides, WOW. This interview is unlike any of the others we have done. The phrase that Gene used that stuck out to me (Josh) was "If the house was on fire, would I need to tell you to go get water?" Gene tells his story with an amazing amount of candor, honesty and humor. Gene does say several times that his district leadership and faculty could not have been more supportive of his efforts during his multi-week recovery, yes, multi-week recovery.

Chris is absent so Cory and Josh do all the talking. They talk about their major takeaways from Denzel's interview last week. They talk about a recent notification from Aruba Networks about a vulnerability in ClearPass. They also each name a company they wish they could make disappear with a snap of the fingers... What would be yours? Tweet us and let us know!

In this episode we quickly talk about the Google Drive outage earlier in the week, and the fact that Google turned on the Plagiarism feature that checks against other students' work.
The majority of our hour long episode is an interview with Denzel. Denzel is the Tech Director at a school that was recently hit with ransomware. He shares with us details of the attack, from waking up and realizing over his morning coffee that they had major issues, to the day he realized the "bad guys" posted data they harvested online.
His story drives home a few major points including the one we all know... the best prepared department can fall victim. We hope you learn something from our interview with Denzel!

Cory returns from Disney, and Josh returns from the Bourbon trail. Josh had a few issues to take care of while gone, including a weird Aruba firmware update issue. Cory talks about the horrible new feature on Chromebooks called "Switch Access" with displays boxes all over the screen on Chromebooks. Chris checks his E-rate 471 status live on the show.

Chris and Josh are pretty laid back this episode because it is Spring Break and the biggest worry is cutting grass at home. The guys review an AP from Ruckus and discuss the different options that Ruckus brings to the table.
A big THANK YOU to Ruckus for providing the AP for us to review. Visit RUCKUS® | CommScope for more info about their product offerings and Business Alliance.
Cory is gone, no, we didn't fire him, he is on vacation with his family, so we have Guest Matt join us.
We talk about Papercut and how it solved printing issues with Chromebooks for Matt and Josh (Chris doesn't support Chromebook printing at his district). We briefly talk about how students discovered they could "invalidate" certificates used by common k12 filters to bypass school filters, and how to prevent that from happening. We talk about how Matt doubles as a bus mechanic and installs bus camera systems. We also mention that the E-rate 471 window has closed and hope that FCDLs start getting issued.

Sorry, something went wrong with our uploaded file. Take 2.
Josh abruptly leaves at the start of the show to take care of an emergency at his board meeting, so Cory and Chris are left to manage the show by themselves. They recap the 2021 Esports Expo, and talk about how they transitioned into the role of Director at their current schools and how the hand off worked. Josh returns and Cory takes issue with Josh's lameness.

In this episode we talk about the newest Windows Update causing BSOD when you print (and how to fix it), we complain about Google Admin Console moving the locations of settings and not telling anyone, and oddly Cory calls Josh handsome.
