This is an interesting story which I used to love when I was youn. It is about a sparrow ( kuruvi) which wants to have payasam and requests a Paatti to make some. I have have expanded the story with my imagination to kindle the grey cells of young minds. Their recollecting ability and memory power is triggered by this interacting story. Tri vikrama

Among the Ten Avatars of Sri Vishnu Vamana Avatar is a favourite one for kids as Sri Vishnu comes in the form a short kid and grows into a huge form of Trivikrama. I am narrating this story in two parts. In the first part How Bali takes away the kingdom of Devas and birth of Vamana is narrated. Also the part upto Vamana demanding three feet of land from Bali. There are many stories with the character of a boy the size of a thumb. This one is my own imagination as I narrated it to my three year old granddaughter Abirami. The story unfolded itself as I narrated it during her lunch time. But for the hero other events are my ideas. This is part 1 of the story. A Thumb sized boy gets lost while on a picnic. This story is my favourite one. When I was young my Athai used to tell this with so much sound effects that we would sit glued on floor waiting for the moment when the sparrow would finally makes the monkey realise it’s folly . Especially the “ kathadikkuthu ... “ one. It still holds good with my granddaughter and thrills her. I am sure lots of Generations will pass and still it may continue to grab the minds of kids.
