This is again a well known story . In the first part of this story a boy cares for a lion which has a problem. He is on the run from kings men. But they catch him. The king declares a horrible punishment. Does the boy ‘ Raju’ as I named him get his freedom or succumbs to the punishment? Let’s find out. Hariom. This story is from Bhagavatam. It’s about a vishnu bhagthan called Ambareeshan. How Dhurvasa rishi who tried to test his bhakti gets into trouble himself. There are many stories with the character of a boy the size of a thumb. This one is my own imagination as I narrated it to my three year old granddaughter Abirami. The story unfolded itself as I narrated it during her lunch time. But for the hero other events are my ideas. This is part 1 of the story. A Thumb sized boy gets lost while on a picnic. This story is my favourite one. When I was young my Athai used to tell this with so much sound effects that we would sit glued on floor waiting for the moment when the sparrow would finally makes the monkey realise it’s folly . Especially the “ kathadikkuthu ... “ one. It still holds good with my granddaughter and thrills her. I am sure lots of Generations will pass and still it may continue to grab the minds of kids. This is a quiet a well known story. But the integration of lives in nature always amazes both children and adults alike. In this particular episode there is a surprise factor. My three year old granddaughter is listening to the story while recording. She represents the wonderful world of kids. I felt she added a value to the narration. Hope you also like it.
