David Waldman is the best at bringing us the latest on today’s KITM:
As we approach our National Day of Mourning, we will need to make room for a few more things to be depressed about. We say so long to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and bienvenue to Pierre Poilievre. Some might pronounce his name one way, he might a different way. Whatever, Trump will pronounce it wrong, the US House will make it a law, and previous pronunciations will be pronounced illegal.
No one is above the law — except Trump. I mean, that’s what he says, but he’s said it for 70 years and it has worked so far. Trump will be sentenced on Jan. 10 according to Justice Juan Merchan, but what does he know? Merchan’s just a judge, and Trump has many reasons, all pulled right out of his pre-presidential butt, on why he shouldn't. Same goes for Jack Smith’s final report. Smith sounds like a guy who knows the law, but he also sounds like a guy who wants some time in Gitmo.
Remember when we could have done something about this? It must have been the working-class anxiety or something…
In sports news, The Pope’s first round draft choice Robert McElroy has been traded from the San Diego Padres over to the Washington Cardinals.
