Kane Alexander chatted with David Moyle about his love of the Great American Songbook, his career objectives when young (Opera), and so much more.

Kane started his musical journey on his family’s wheat farm when he was 11 years of age where he had the opportunity to listen to records from his grandmothers record collection.  These records gave Kane a huge appreciation of such a rich collection of music from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s.  When 15 he moved to Melbourne to study music at the VCA secondary school and fell in love with Musical Theatre whilst studying a range of music including Opera.

As both an Actor and singer, Kane brings his acting skills to the understanding and interpretation of the incredible songs from the Great American Songbook – from composers such as George Gershwin, Harold Arlen, and Johnny Mercer, with songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Sammy Davis Jr.

Kane will be performing his favourite songs from the Great American Songbook at Arts Centre Melbourne as you enjoy your High Tea Live at midday on Sunday November 3.
