In this episode, we are continuing with our Atomic Habits book summary series with coverage on chapter 4. Habit formation is vital to getting the outcomes that you want & Atomic Habits by James Clear is a widely known resource to help you do just that. In this chapter, we discuss the topic of "Making it Obvious". We are on autopilot with the majority of things that we do on a daily basis. As we repeat habits, they become routine, and as a result, our non-conscious systems do things whether effective or detrimental without us thinking about it. The key to becoming more productive and successful is becoming more aware and cognizant of all of our habits so we can effectively change the behaviors that are not helping us get to our desired outcome. James Clear explained that there is no such thing as a good or bad habit. I found that helpful as he put it into perspective like this... habits can be useful depending on every person's desired outcome. An example is... if you eat a wheat bagel, peanut butter, and rice cakes once you wake up each morning, that would be detrimental if your outcome is to lose weight. Conversely, if you want to bulk and add muscle that habit is effective and moving you towards your desired objective.
