The Institute for Energy Security (IES) is appealing once again to President Nana Akufo-Addo to bring back the Tema Oil Refinery in the shortest possible time to refine and sell petroleum products at cheaper prices.

Majority Leader has rejected the decision by the Speaker of Parliament on the fate of Dome-Kwabenya legislator, Sarah Adwoa Safo. Speaker, Alban Bagbin ruled that the Privileges Committee report is not final.

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban S.K Bagbin, has granted permission for a report from the Privileges Committee on three absentee Members of Parliament including Sarah Adwoa Safo to be tabled before the house for discussion. The Speaker ruled that the privileges Committee’s report on the three absentee MPs could not be accepted as the final decision on the matter but should be subjected to a vote on the floor of the house.

Some New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentarians are demanding the sacking of Ken Ofori-Atta as Finance Minister. The MPs, numbering about 80, held a press conference on Tuesday to impress on the President to relieve his cousin of the responsibility of managing the national purse or risk losing their support for government business going forward.

Residents in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region have protested against the appalling condition of their roads. The protesting communities included Achiaman, Doblogonno and Akraman, all at Amasaman.
