North Tongu Member of Parliament (MP), Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has built and commissioned a surgical block in honour of late former President John Evans Atta Mills. The newly-constructed facility located at the St Anne’s Polyclinic at Tagadzi, Dorfor in North Tongu was opened in a colourful ceremony on Tuesday.

Two people are in critical condition following an alleged clash between illegal miners and a security team manning the concession of Anglogold Ashanti in the Obuasi East district. Three students of the University of Education, Winneba have been arrested for causing mayhem in the school’s premises. Winneba District Police command, confirming the arrest to Adom News’ Seth Kofi Adjei, said the three students allegedly assaulted a lecturer during the Monday morning demonstration.

A mason, believed to be in his late 20s, has drowned in an abandoned stone quarry pit at Kasoa Opeikuma in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region. Information gathered indicates that the mason met his untimely death when he and four other friends went to the area to work.

The police have arrested a man seen in a viral video brutally assaulting his barely three-year-old son, The Fourth Estate can confirm. The suspect, Richard Kofi was picked up at about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Akaa Buem in Jasikan in the Oti Region.

The World Bank has classified Ghana as a high debt distress country as it projects the nation’s debt to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 104.6% by the end of 2022. According to its October 2022 Africa Pulse Report, debt is expected to jump significantly, from 76.6% a year earlier, amid a widened government deficit, massive weakening of the cedi, and rising debt service costs.
