This past Super Bowl, He Gets Us released their newest campaign featuring polarized groups washing each other's feet. The campaign is an attempt to rebrand Jesus away from the hateful image increasingly associated with him, thanks to conservative Christians who push for Christian Nationalism. And as it turns out, they've got the same funders.

Warner Brothers approached a successful Tiktoker named Mirta Miller  to make a silly video to promote the newest adaptation of Alice Walker's The Color Purple. In the video, it was very apparent that she wasn't familiar with the source material and naturally, that rubbed many black folks online the wrong way. So I wanted to talk about why Warner Brothers would decide to go with a white influencer like Mirta MIller for what would later be revealed as a $40,000 campaign.

When this conservative was caught liberally caressing her date at a Denver showing of the Beetlejuice musical, it caused quite the stir. For some people, the biggest tragedy in a family's history is a source of entertainment and intrigue.
