The Israelites have been released from exile, have returned to Jerusalem, and have rebuilt the temple.  Sadly, they again become unfaithful.  The prophet Malachi comes along to give a final message.  This is the last book in the Old Testament, and it beautifully wraps up everything we have read so far.

We talked in the last video about how the prophet Haggai came along and encouraged the Israelites to get the temple rebuilt.  Zechariah will come along at the same time with another encouraging message.  His will be about more than building a building though, it will be about living their lives for the Lord.

The book of Haggai is the 10th book of the minor prophets.  The other 9 were written during the time of the kings that ruled over the divided kingdom.  Between the last book and this one, Babylon conquered the southern kingdom of Judah, carried the Jews into exile, and destroyed Jerusalem and the temple.

Zephaniah, like most of the prophets, pleads with the people to repent, warns them of the coming judgment, and then shares with them God’s promises of future restoration.  Hear what he has to say about the Day of The Lord.

Habakkuk was a prophet who lived in an age when the world seemed to be overtaken with evil.   He boldly and confidently went before God and questioned where He was when His people needed Him.  See how God responded!

Nineveh didn’t stay faithful for long, so God sent another prophet to them.  Nahum explained the character of God, that He is slow to anger but will not leave evil unpunished forever.  Watch to see how they responded.
